I haven't found the source, but I think I have a PS leak. There is oil sprayed all over my hood, and the side of my air box. By a visual inspection I can't see where the leak is coming from, possibly from the bottom of the PS reservoir? Pulling the PS dip stick, there fluid barely covers the bottom of the measuring stick, so obviously I'm low on fluid.

Are power steering leaks common with 1st gens, or where is a common place that the leak would be coming from. Any help is appreciated.

Mine leaked anywhere and everywhere. If you can't see signs on the pump leaking from the pump, chance are you did an oil change got it on the fan and it sprayed the hood.

clean it up and start it. watch for the source. but for it to spray everywhere something had to throw it. so either the fan or the seal behind the p/s pulley is puking...
