The age old issue of piracy and hacking seems like an eternal one, with the hackers and modders always finding a way to work around gadgets and consoles to jailbreak and while the manufacturers always try a new way to keep the jailbreakers and hackers away. This time around, Sony may make sure that jailbreaking the PS3 would become tougher, if not impossible with the upcoming PS3 3.55 Firmware Update.

Wow...^^^Random. But I think that patch is important for Sony to keep all of its manufacturers. It won't affect me too much for my PS3 activity is all legal. I do acknowledge the fact that I would buy way more games if they were 40 even

I played around with the whole custom firmware for my PSP and decided against any custom installations on my PS3. It was kind of cool on the PSP, but I just don't have enough time in my day to tinker around with the PS3.

The link didn't provide much details, but I think almost all firmware releases have had a secondary goal of closing loopholes exploited in previous releases.
