Sony Preparing Motion Controller For Fall 2010 Launch

Sony Computer Entertainment has announced today that their new motion controller for the PlayStation 3 will hit the market this fall in Japan, Asia, Europe/PAL territories and North America. As most of you know, it will be paired with the already existing PlayStation Eye and "detect the natural and intuitive movement of the hand and reflect the precise movement within the game, delivering a whole new entertainment experience on PS3." The previous estimate was that it might be ready in the spring or summer but it appears Sony wants to wait until they've got a good amount of compatible software ready. Said SCE President and Group CEO, Kazuo Hirai:

Rockstar Hints At GTAIV DLC On PS3, Teases L.A. Noire

Info Begins To Flow For PS3's Torne

What is "Torne?" Well, it was first announced in Japan last week and the latest issue of Famitsu provides us with even more details. ...wait, that doesn't really answer the question, does it?
Okay, Torne is what SCE hardware planner Kiyoto Shibuya calls an attempt at making a "truly PS3-like DVR." "We built this from the ground up to be a uniquely PlayStation product, and I think the results show that limiting your feature set can be a good thing," he said. (source- 1Up) Yep, Torne is a video recording device for your PS3, and in addition to being fully compatible with the PSP (you can use your handheld as a remote control), it appears you can even earn Trophies by utilizing Torne. Said Shibuya:

PlayStation 3 harder than ever; those "It Only Does Everything" commercials are getting plenty of airtime.

GameStop Offers Exclusive Yakuza 3 Pre-Order Incentives

Most people equate March 9 with the US release of Final Fantasy XIII but if RPGs aren't your bag, there's one PlayStation 3 exclusive that might capture your attention.
Yakuza 3 is set to launch on the 9th, too, and based on what we've seen and heard from the Japanese reviews, this one is a definite gem (and the best entry yet in the franchise). Furthermore, if you decide to pre-order the gritty action title from GameStop, you'll receive a few little bonuses. First of all, you'll get $5 off the purchase price, dropping the retail cost down to $54.99, and on top of that, you'll get the "GameStop Exclusive Challenge Pack." It's downloadable content that boasts a few two-player mini-games like bowling, darts and pool. You'll also be able to unlock new costumes for the main characters once you finish the game. If you want to pre-order online, your code for the DLC should be e-mailed to you and if you drop your deposit in a brick-and-mortar GameStop, you should get a little card with the requisite code. For a bunch of new screenshots, head on over to Examiner.com; this is one title that might avoid notice in March due to the major blockbusters scheduled for that month.

i've decided that i will not prestige until i have mastery for all the weapons. i have like 10 or 11 done...still a ways to go, but workin on it. apparently, i've gotten my points ranking too high...server keeps putting me in games with supernatural/robot players and i'm getting slaughtered a lot lately.

on a side note--noobtubes and akimbo 1887s make me want to stab my TV. :)

    Agreed.

Also, those times when it seems like you watch your knife stab the other guy in melee yet somehow you die instead of them?

Just got a ps3 for my bday from the wife 2 wks ago. Haven't had time to really play any games, I just have R6V that I borrowed from my bro to check it out. Hoping to get into more games pretty soon though. Heard good things about MW2, so I may pick it up.

melee seems to be kinda random...there have been instances where clearly, the other guy got me, but somehow i managed to stab them instead and as you say sometimes the opposite. dunno if it's related to connection speeds or what?

    it's connection speed

MW2 is boring after awhile, not like WAW.
