Midnight club has been rated pretty well so far so i'd go for it over NFS. Pure is the new ATV racing game that came out a month or so ago. there's a demo of it on the PSN for free download, check it out.

The new NFS isn't too great. I miss the original NFS Undergrounds.

I was going to do that, but jumped the gun and ordered him NFS Undercover. I may take it to the store & exchange it for Midnight club.

I will check out Pure, this weekend.

Yeah I loved all the NFS with the exception of Porsche Unleashed, which royaly sucked. I may look for the hot pursuits for PS2.

I had a steering wheel on my PC back in the day. The NFS games were a blast. My Son started playing them when he was 3, now he is 11. We have had some good times with NFS.:D

According to research by technology analysts TDG, about 190 million households around the world will have a next-generation console by 2012, and about 148 million of that 190 million will be connected to the Internet. (source- DigitalSpy.co.uk) As for actual downloading of digital media, the report estimates that 110 million consoles will be used for that purpose in a little over three years time. Co-author of the report, Colin Dixon, said that these findings prove how far consoles have come; that the general public will be turning to video game systems more and more to satisfy their movie and even television needs. "Microsoft and Sony know that today's console gamers are perfectly suited for new TV offerings," he said. And if you're wondering whether or not gamers have it in them to spend a good deal of money online, Dixon added that most of them are clearly "quite comfortable spending money for online digital media." But it's that 190 million number overall that's turning heads, and infusing even more legitimacy into the thriving industry.
190 million. Seriously, that's just nutty. Coming from the early days of Atari, most of us could never have believed at the time that such a statistic could even be suggested for the future.

I'm addicted to Grand Theft Auto 4. Almost late for work today because of it.

Anyone playing it? The main character sounds like Shrek. He is a Russian, every time he talks I crack up. Hey Shrek is cussing!

WOW this sucks! i was playin my PS3(its the 60GB) a few minutes ago when all of a sudden the game freezes up. I think ok, whatever its done this before. So i shut off the power and rebooted it. Turns out it wont read ANY discs i put in it now; it doesnt matter if its a game, Blu-ray, or regular DVD. pop it in and all i get is the little 'loading dot' thing in the RH corner but it never shows up. anyone else have an issue or heard of this problem?
Hope its not a hardware failure, just a software error. i downloaded a new update not long ago. hopefully its something simple like that.......:(

Sounds like the hard drive may have crashed. May have to replace the hard drive. Luckily PS3 makes that possible. But I think you have to get the hard drive from Sony. Because they would have to preload the software.

I've been addicted to Grand Theft Auto 4. I seem to play it in 5-6 hour increments.

Also with my neighbor we have been playing Resistance 2. Unfortunately you can't play 2 player campaign, as you could in the original one. But online is pretty good.

My Son will be opening NFS-Undercover today(since I won't have him for Christmas). Game on. We will be playing all day.

you can use any 2.5" hard drive in the ps3 but you have to back up all the files that you want to keep on a thumb drive or some other portable media. i've been looking to get a 500gb hard drive. not very expensive if you consider what you can use it for. i had a real bad addiction to rainbow six 2 back before summer rolled around now that it's crappy out again i'm back into it really rusty though. assassins creed is a great game i think that santa is bringing little big planet and world at war. pure is a great game. i wanna try rockband or guitar hero world tour

    add me if you want

sh1ppy well find something to play

You can't do that if the drive crashed & can't access it. Otherwise yes I would do what you suggested. Cheaper that way, than buying from Sony.

naw, its not the HDD. i can still play games and demos off of it and access all my stuff. its the bluray drive, only issue is that it wont read discs. Problem is, now i pulled it apart and cleaned the laser and all the dust from the inside of my machine(hoping this would solve it; seems like it has for a lot of people) but there was some linkage in the drive that was spring loaded. when i pulled the cover off it it popped free, now i cant figure out where the pins for these linkages line up to move everything:mad:. it now trys to feed the disc in until it safety-times out, then it wont spit the disc out either.
oh well, just need to find a PS3 with somthing other than the bluray drive busted and swap out the drive into my system. if you look up "PS3 AS-IS" on ebay you'll come up with about 7 pages@50 listings/page of dead PS3's, 90+% are systems with dead bluray drives. Sony should recognize this and fix em all like Microsoft and the red rings on the 360.
