Has anyone played Ghost of Tsushima yet? Just wondering, seems that media sites are comparing it to RDR2 and some are saying it's better.

I haven't played it and probably won't just because I don't have the energy to put into a game like that.

That said... I haven't seen one bad review on it. Everyone seems to love it and it does look like a great game. The perfect swan song for the PS4. Wish I had time to dedicate to it.

I broke down and bought Ghost of Tsushima since I have pretty much got my characters where I want them in Destiny right now and they extended the expansion to Nov. 10. I've got to say... It is quite possibly one of the best looking games on the PS4. Admittedly I'm not very far into the game but I love the swordplay and the story so far. I haven't even started on my skill trees yet but I can see that this game will take up a lot of time. I'm really digging it. If you haven't already bought it, I don't think you can go wrong with it.

    Yeah.
I ordered it on disc since my daughter wants to play it as well. Was supposed to be here yesterday, but delayed, no idea when it will show up.

I need to watch more game play before I decide. Looks pretty good though.

From what I've played so far, I really like it. You like open world single player games so I think you'll dig it. I only bought it for when I've completed everything for the week in Destiny. But it is a good game and quite possibly one of the best looking games on the PS4.

You won't put forth the time or effort to actually play through the game so it will be wasted money for you. Not a criticism, just a fact. You are so far behind in Destiny right now that you'll have no idea what to do, what is best right now, and what will likely be best in the coming expansion when / if you come back. Add in another game that has at minimum of 40 hrs of playtime just for the main story? Nah... lol... you won't finish it.

Speaking of disc. I think I'm just going to buy the PS5 without the disc drive. Of course, I'll buy whichever one I can get my hands on at launch but if I had a choice it will be without the disc drive since that is what has broken on every single console that I have ever bought since the original Xbox. I've gone though 4 PS4 Pros and only one of them has a working disc drive. That's fine since I only buy digital games now. So I see no reason to buy a PS5 with a disc drive. It's just one more thing that can and will fail in the future.

    Yeah.
Yeah, I'm on the fence. I don't use my drive much, but I do have some stuff on BluRay (LotR and Hobbit movies mainly) that I like to be able to occasionally watch. My oldest is relentlessly watching media info just waiting to be able to put in pre-orders. The one per household means we'll have to go through multiple retailers, hopefully getting at least one to go through. We may have to share for a while, lol.

I'm kind of the same way. I got lucky with the PS4 and didn't pre order it. But I had a friend at Game Stop put one back for me. I don't have that luxury this time. So hopefully I can snag one on launch day. It was a few months before I saw a PS4 on the shelf when it released. The Xbox was everywhere since it wasn't as popular. Hell... when I started this thread I bought an Xbox on a whim just because they had so many of them in stock. It was forever before you could reliably buy a PS4. I'll take whichever one I can get. If it comes with a drive so be it. But I'd rather not have one if I can keep from it. Less shit to break.

Don't we need to consult AngryJoe before we can decide whether or not we like Ghost of Tsushima ?

:) Lol... I don't care if you like or don't like the same games that I like or dislike. I stated my reasons for not liking TLoU II. That is what I based my judgement on and I'm glad that I didn't purchase it "personally". I'm glad you liked it. If you got your monies worth out of it then that's all that matters. "I" just couldn't justify buying something that I didn't support because of the way Naughty Dog handled the entire situation. I don't expect anyone to hold my views and that's fine. My decision. I also wouldn't expect you to like Destiny nor would I push you toward that game. If you want to try it by all means do so. But that is your right to either try it or not depending on if you like that sort of game.

Yes... I do my research before buying a game and Ghosts has been on my radar for quite sometime now. It was just a matter of if I was actually going to have the time to put toward that game. Since the expansion of Destiny was pushed back two months, I now have the time to devote to it. If you want to try it, try it. If not... don't. Simple as that.

super worth it? any game to compare it to? I don't often play games like that, but arguably I've only seen the trailer...

    Yeah.
I was gonna tag you and recommend it. I'm quite a ways through the first island but have some more exploring to do before moving on.

One hint: Stance matters. It is a mechanic that I am trying to get used to, but it does make a difference.

I have contrast set to Dramatic, I think it looks better that way.

I haven't been able to play it as much as I would like but it is a very good game so far and I've barely scratched the surface. I still personally think it's one of the best looking games on the PS4 and a great way to end the life cycle of the platform. Looking forward to playing some more because I have a lot to learn. I do love the combat, swordplay, and the samurai theme. Really well done game. I especially like that there really is no hud, you just swipe on the touchpad and the wind tells you where you need to go.
