PS4 / Xbox One... Reviews in Progress

took three hours last night to setup the One and download Titanfall. didnt get a chance to play it last night...didnt want to be a zombie at work today.

No... It just matches you with other players. Doesn't matter your level. I've really found that it doesn't matter too much. I've won just as many matches with players that are far lower than the people on the other team. Teamwork is the key to this game. If you run off and lone wolf it it will most times bite you in the ass. If you get a team that sticks together then you will have better success.

 

I've seen a lot of evidence to support this. And by that I mean I was in a group that kept running around doing there own thing and we lost almost every match.

 

I give it two games like that. If it happens twice then I drop and find a different group. Once I find a group that works together then I'll stick with them. I play attrition 90% of the time and if you get 2 or more people that stick with you it usually works out pretty good. And like I say... just because you have a titan on call doesn't mean you must call it down immediately. Check the map and if you see 3 opposing titans and not one on your team then just hang on to it. You will get destroyed if you have the only one and you will be the target.

 

Have already seen 3rd 4th and 5th presitges..

 

I've a seen a couple of 2nd lvl regens but that's it so far. I haven't been able to play near as much as I wanted this last week. I won't regen as I see no use in it. Never have. I understand the concept but it will eventually end anyway and you will no longer regen again so whats the use? Once I get the weapons I want it's fine with me to just stick with them and kill shit.

I have noticed one thing and I think it will always be this way even with this game. After a while it is still the same thing just like COD. Don't get me wrong... There is plenty of new stuff in this game to keep me occupied but... it will get repetitive in time. I think that's just the nature of the beast.

Destiny and The Division look to change that formula due to the more MMO type of play so I'm hopeful those will turn out well.

I'm still loving Titanfall though.

 

I see your point about the repetitive but they are supposed to add a bunch of free DLC coming soon. I'm hoping that means more guns (I only use 3...) more game modes and leaderboards

Oh yeah... I agree. The DLC I think will probably be really good and I look forward to it. They have already shown they know how to make a good game and think outside the box so I look for good things from them.

I still take my PS4 up to work and play COD. The Xbox is too hard to unhook with all the different connections and the way I have all the wires hidden. The PS4 only has 3 connections: power / HDMI / Optical and that's it. I've got a 27" monitor and a set of PX4 surround headsets that I keep in my locker. About 1 day out of 3 is all I can take of COD but the Maverick is stupid powerful. Red Dot and Silencer and I'm deadly. It's fun but only for a while.

Holy fuck the other team sucked ass. When I catch a team like that I tend to stick with them. I've never come close to 42 kills though. I think my record is 18 - 0. I'm still running a 2.01 KD on Pilots though so I'm cool with that. Honestly I've been switching back and forth between COD and Titanfall. Keeps both fresh I've found. When I start feeling board with one I'll switch to the other for a few.

 

I started that game off 25-0 and had 29 kills in the first round

man.. already the quality of everything is Soooo much better than my 360. And I even have the newer slim 360. Ha.

 

Yeah the next gen systems are awesome. My only dislike about the Xbox is the Kenect and the power brick. Pretty much makes it impossible for me to take to work. The PS4 is just 3 connections and a standard power cord. Both are relatively even everywhere else.

I've got everything else pre ordered for the PS4. But... when Halo comes out. Hell yeah! Xbox all the way!

 

Watched a video of the new metal gear solid side by side on all systems and the ps4 graphics were much sharper and better looking overall.
I'll probably be returning this system to Costco in the near future...titanfall is great and all but it's already getting repetitive.

 

Got ya. I could see how that would be cumbersome. For me, no biggie. Ill have the 360 in the bedroom and the One in the living room. So moving isn't an issue.

Halo for sure. That, and Gears Of War (I'm a HUGE Gears fan) are what made me decide on the Xone. Everything else I'm interested in is on both platforms...

...including this! Cant wait for it to come out tomorrow. Pickin it up after work!

This is true.. Sony's graphics have always been better. But without seeing them side by side it isn't enough of a difference to make me switch. I love the gaming of Xbox more. The online play specifically. Which, on that note, Titanfall should keep me entertained for a long time.

Now.. if there comes a time where I can splurge and pick up a PS4 too... hell yeah! I started on PlayStation. Then the small PS1 and to the PS2. I made the switch to Xbox tho and have been very pleased since.

I do like both consoles, just prefer Xbox for my style of gaming I guess.


BTW.. my Xbox GT is ALMIGHTYMOSES06 if anyone wants to show me the ropes on Titanfall.

 

I was jaded by Microsoft when they came out with the hd dvd and professed that it will be the future of movies so give us your $200 for the player and then literally 4 months later stopped making the dvds.
That was when I switched to playstation... Never really looked back.

 

Just purchased my xbox one. Wallet just got more lighter. Lol oh well.
