PS4 / Xbox One... Reviews in Progress

My legendaries arent even close to being maxed out. Thats gonna take me some time. Some are just waiting on materials though.

 

While that leader board does show your Max Gamer Score the ranking is based only on the total achievement points that you have earned in the past 30 days. I like it this way better because some people are always going to have more total points because they have had there X boxes longer than other people and there for had more time to play more games and therefor have more points then someone who just bought there xbox a month ago. This way you can still be competitive in the rankings based on what you have done in the last month.

 

Soooo.. I'll be pickin up The Evil Within today. came out Tuesday.. I've been waiting for this game since before I even got my One.. I love survival horror games.. and The Evil Within is going to be amazing. Shinji Mikami, the creator of the original Resident Evil.. this is his new game.. can't. wait. gettin home.. gettin some beers. turnin the lights off.. and gonna scare the shit out of myself.

 

Maybe you should pick up some depends with those beers.

 

So I started playing Shadow of Mordor last night , I can't say I hate it but it's one of those games that frustrate the shit out of me at first trying to figure out what I 'm supposed to be doing . I try using stealth to sneak around and not get noticed but simehow always end up battling 10 Uruks at once , getting killed and having my enemies get stronger

 

You have to take out the lone one or two walking around. You won't be able to take on a whole mob or a captain without leveling up first.

I would have sent you my copy. That game was a huge disappointment to me.

I watched a walkthrough video and the Nemesis System seems kinda interesting and I think I just have to figure out a bit more strategy than the typical go in fighting every time

I also like that it is open world and that you can gain XP outside of the main missions , I think I need to stay out of the main story missions till I pratice my combat a bit more , I went through the same thing with Assasin's Creed

My typical combat generally goes like this ;

Attack , attack , parry , parry , oh fuck , attack , parry , parry , oh fuck , oh fuck , mash , attack , oh fuck , mash , mash , oh fuck I'm gonna die again , mash , mash , mash , mash , die

 

That's pretty much the way I was with it also until I kind of figured out what I was doing. I need to give it another shot so I suppose I'll hang onto it for a bit. I can't quit Destiny at the moment so maybe it will grow on me at a later time. Keep me updated on how you like it and if you think it gets better as you progress though the game.

I know with Assasin's Creed I really had to calm down during combat and be more deliberate with my button presses otherwise combos wouldn't work and I would get all fucked up and out of sequence . Sometimes it's hard to break the mash-a-thon habit though

Yea! We need to get this raid armor before there is new raid armor. I think each raid is going to have a unique look. The vog being based off vex.

 

Man..... I love the way my warlock looks right now. Ive got 2 shaders I switch between. But I wonder why they limit us to only one piece of exotic armor and one weapon. I realize this is a semi MMO but that is what you strive for is the lure of better gear. Why not all exotic gear if you're able to get it?

The weapon isn't really a problem as I switch back and forth between my exotic AR and exotic sniper depending on the strike. I carry a extra legendary ar and sniper so I can do that.

 

I think the raid warlock armor looks badass.

But i do hope they get rid of the one exotic crap. I hate switching between suros to use icebreaker and so on. Armor i could see why kinda, itd give too many added perks.

im starting to feel like xur isnt really a good thing for this game. Yes its nice to be able to buy stuff but at the same time exotics arent as cool cause youre guaranteed at least one a week usually two (motes and coins). Gets rid of the grind for them and everyone has them. But the only way to fix that would be up legendary engram drops quantites then leave rng for them. Itd be a good compromise i think?

 

Yeah, Fuck Xur. Every engram I traded motes for has been for another class. I got a Titan chest piece today. I got the helm for my hunter off him also today with coins but yeah I agree. It takes some of the skill out of the game when you can just buy your exotic. Don't get me wrong.... I fucking love the Suros and Icebreaker but.... You should really have to earn it instead of just grinding coins / motes.


*EDIT* I actually got one Suros off a random drop at the end of one strike. Surprised the hell out of me. That's how I got "The Truth" Rocket launcher also though I don't use rocket launchers.

 

Nice! I dont use rocket launchers either, machine guns get a lot more kills per ammo carried. But im still buying truth just cause

I agree with you on the machine gun. I forget the name of mine (not in game at the moment) but it has drastically low recoil which is nice.
