The xbox one keeps letting me down as a consumer.

The fact that there is no arcade is bullshit.

All the games released on both platforms have issues and perform worse on xbox one plus the resolution is 90% lower.

Buggy games are the norm for the system as it has been what over half a year since halo came out and is barely working after numerous patches.

Ori and the blind forrest was just released and oh.. its broken as hell on xbox but fine on PC.

The 2 physical games I own as a sad representation of "Next Gen"

Forza 5 and Forza Horizon 2.

Both have screen tearing, run at 30 fps and glitch with shadows.

    OK ,

So I've been playing The Order : 1886 a couple hours at a time at night over the last week and just finished it , and after all the horrible reviews I can report that I honestly enjoyed the game .

It is not without flaws , but overall I enjoyed my time playing it .

It is a linear game , not open world , and is more of an interactive story than a typical FPS / adventure game .

There is some range weapon combat and stealth combat which is good , and overall the game LOOKS AMAZING .

There is a lot of Quick Time Events that may turn off some people , for the older crowd , those sections of the game reminded me of the old arcade game Dragon's Lair , and there is a few pretty weak sections where you battle werewolves but the combat cycle is predictable and easy .

It is short , I think I finished in about 10 or 12 hours total , having to try a few sections a number of times , you could easily do it quicker if you made no mistakes .

The ending is obviously setting up a sequel and this is actually what I am most excited about because the developers have created such a great looking world engine that by spending their development time ironing out the issues with this first installment , they will have a killer game .

I won't try to talk anyone into buying this game but I saw that it is down to $40 in some places , I think it's worth that .

Overall , the look , sound and feel of this game makes me wish I had The Order : 1887 to play right now .

    Good review!

I think the problem with AAA games today is that people expect to get as much replay-ability out of the games as they possibly can. Game producers are forced to pack in as much as possible and have millions of dollars invested in a game and still sell it for $60 with the hopes that it will be a hit (much like the movie industry). Therein lies the problem... It has turned into a cycle of buy the game then... shell out another $35 for a expansion pack. Destiny is still my go to game until Project Cars comes out and it is guilty of this also. I think The Order 1886 IMO highlighted this fact with such a short game and people felt like they were cheated (I know I would have felt that way). I agree that the game itself looks amazing but with a 5-6 hour playthrough I would be pissed which is why I didn't bother. If it were $20 (which it will be at some point) I might try it.

On a side note: The cut scenes would have definitely put me off.

The Last of Us topped my all time best single player gaming experience. Better than the original Half Life. And I have a Half Life tattoo.

    That's pretty hard core.

I agree The Last of Us is a epic game. Played it on the PS3 then replayed it on the PS4. It will always remain as one of the best games ever made. Oddly enough, my favorite game of all time is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I loved that game and played through it countless numbers of times when I was younger. That game will always hold a nostalgic place in my heart.

Well I am a bit of a dork.

Yeah I played it on PS3 all the way through 3 times and got Joel's abilities and weapons maxed out. Played it on PS4 twice now.
