If you like the dark souls games then you will like Bloodborne. It's not quite as hard but still challenging. You will see the "YOU DIED" screen often. As for a single play through I dunno because I haven't finished it yet. The chalice dungeons are pretty cool and they are never the same each time you go in them. I've yet to try out the multiplayer (not really sure how it works honestly) but from the videos I've watched it looks pretty cool.

I've been splitting my time between Destiny, Bloodborne, and Shadow of Mordor. I've about run out of things to do in Destiny since I have every single thing you can get out of the game. I still play it but there is no tangible reward for playing right now since I've got literally everything. Just waiting on House of Wolves now.

Blood Borne is pretty much my whole reason to purchase a PS4.

Quite honestly I haven't got that far into it. Should have taken your advise and gathered some intel instead of button mashing my way to death. Seems I like to give the Orcs promotions

That and "The Last of Us". That is probably one of the most "gripping" games I've ever played. I hope they never make a sequel (or if they do... make it from Tommy's perspective).

I never played the dark souls series. I watched a review video and it looks good/interesting. Guess i could just get it and see how it plays.

Oh , I thought of something else too that I didn't realize until late in the game is that you can generate money for abilities by selling the runes you have multiples of , I just keep the highest level of each rune I have and sell off the rest

Own it. Beaten it a few times. Absolutely love it. It is a must own game.

^Yes I'm fairly certain it does.

    Yeah.
I haven't done the DLC content, and haven't finished the PS4 version of the main Last of Us game yet. Saving it for a rainy day.

I think you can play Booldborne offline, it gives you that choice when you start the game (I guess so you can avoid getting raided).

Interesting thread! I have had both consoles for a while. I also have a PC that can outperform either system. I play different games on each type of system, though, and I like aspects of all for different reasons.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
The only systems I have not owned are the original NES, Genesis 32x, WII, WII U, and Playstation 3. I have been gaming on PC since the original Doom, and Karateka.

    PROS:
PC - It does more than just games, I can use my 360 controller on it when I need a console feel but PC performance, I have more options for customizing my experience, and games like Diablo 3, and XCOM are simply superior on PC. FPS on PC are far more precise. Fantastic media playback of all formats. Steam.
XBO - The Kinect voice stuff pretty much always works, Maybe you need a flat midwestern accent to make it reliable? The exclusives tend to be (in my opinion) far superior to what Sony has to offer. Xbox Live, party chat, sharing media, and "Xbox, Record That" are a better experience, and easier to use than the awkward buttons on PS4 (if you have Kinect. If not, this is a tie). Digital games, no DRM. Great interface designed by graphic designers.
PS4 - The games simply all look better. PS+ free games make the membership costs worth it, and the games are fun and innovative instead of the garbage launch games that XBO offers. The ability (FINALLY!) to configure your gamepad independent of games is a master stroke. Digital games, no DRM.

    CONS:
PC - New drivers required for most major release games. New DirectX or MS libraries required regularly, often break other games. Reboots after install like it's 1998. Many AAA games are just crummy ports of console games. DRM and physical media are still HUGE problems for paying customers. WASD is fine, but games that use WASD and SHIFT+P or any finger-ruining reaches should die in a fire (ARMA 3)
XBO - 720p and 30 frames per second on most games on this "Next Gen" console (PC like it's 1998). The store, and Xbox Live free games are pretty bad. The player rating system is either broken or completely ineffectual. Limited game catalog for 1+ years since launch. Lousy media playback. Launch announcements like The Division and Quantum Break are still MIA.
PS4 - The controller is just bad, lightweight, small, and uncomfortable, the LED on it serves limited purpose except to drain the battery. GUI is designed by engineers, not designers. It has everything it needs, but makes no sense. In game party chat isn't unified across games and tends to be broken, muted during disk drive loading. Exclusives are lackluster or disappointing. CONSTANT system updates add features that Xbox shipped with (this is kind of a Pro, but most of these were things Sony mocked Microsoft over: camera, game suspend, voice-commands, integrated entertainment apps). Lousy media playback.

SUMMARY - The XBO is still not a better experience than the 360. It's not a big enough leap to be next gen. They cut corners implementing the Kinect, then backed off on their actual technical features after announcing them. The PS4 is a better performance machine than the XBO, but the interface is clumsy, and the exclusive games have been a disappointment. The launch games were better than XBO, but most AAA games are also available for PC, cost less, and look better. PC gaming is a huge time and money investment. Anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves. It's a better experience by a wide margin over any console - provided you have the money to keep it current, and the time to spend on forums determining why your game isn't running like it's supposed to, or why the sound stopped working after DirectX 11.

If you have the money to do it right, the PC is the best bang for your buck over the longest timeline. If you have tiny hands and love JRPGs and fun free min-games, you can't do better than the PS4. If you enjoy bullying teenagers in team games, don't mind waiting 2+ years for the "good games" to come out, and don't mind a fidelity hit, the XBO is your system of choice.

I'm getting grouchy in my old age. Now get off my lawn.
