It has to be old age. Gaming has passed me by and I should pick up needlework or planting herb gardens.

I played about 7 hours of Last of Us after glowing reviews. The story in the game is really engrossing, the characters are well realized, and they really have a good grasp on playing your emotions. But the gameplay is just terrible. It reminds me so much of the original Resident Evil. Lots of jump-scares, boss battles that are just fights of attrition instead of interesting (the idea of boss battles should be retired entirely), and the controls are unresponsive. I should find a YouTube and just watch the story play out, or switch to Easy and choke my way through the gameplay. The story feels like it would be rewarding if I could make it to the end.

I feel the same way on games that require constant use of aiming with my right thumb.. I am a pc gamer now a days with that stuff.

I like action games that are more melee based and racing games on consoles though.

Platformer games like mario and zelda and old metroids are a blast for me though..

The right thumb aim shit never caught on for me.

Slow and methodical. Makes you think before every fight. Risk vs reward. I suggest when you build up a bunch of blood echos turn them in and buy armor, health, etc... before you lose them to a mob way into the game. It sucks having to fight back through the same mobs but it makes it easier in the long run.

Yea, im enjoying it. But holy fuck.
Do i need to go back to a previous lamp to do that? I cant seem to find another lamp after the 2nd one...

Edit: just started backtracking enough to keep my echos and lvl up. Still cant find another lamp though. 4 hours in gameplay already.

Just bought DriveClub for the PS4. Holy fuck what a good racing game. I've never seen better graphics in a racing game. They nail the physics of each car and the tracks are diverse enough to keep you coming back for more. Progression is straightforward and pretty swift to keep new cars coming into your inventory. The cockpit view is unbelievable. This will definitely keep me occupied until Project Cars comes out. I like the idea that it is real world cars with no tinkering under the hood. Straight up racing that's it.

Here's a good description of the graphics

Glad to see you liked it.

I am a racing fan true and true with a huge love for Gran Turismo 1-2-3 However 4-5-6 suuuuuck in comparison.

I enjoy Forza 2-3-4- Horizons 1-2, The first Forza and 5 are just not good.

I tried Driveclub in the first week and instantly sold it on ebay.

I found the AI way too aggressive and was constantly having a bad time playing.

I wont buy the Crew cause I played it at a friends.. Yuck Ubisoft missed the boat there.

I prefer arcade type racers like Ridge Racer and Mario Kart much more than a hard core sim anymore.

The Moto GP series is garbage unless you're really into Motorcycles.

I want another Motorstorm or Dirt game.. LOVE Those type of racers.

I'm on PS4 , I finished the original game 100% , now I'm playing the DLC . I finished The Lord of the Hunt and now I'm part way into The Bright Lord but holy shit it is way harder than the rest , all Captains are level 22-24 and you can't fight Captains on their own if they are Warlord bodygaurds so taking on the Warlords sometimes you have to take on the Warlord and 3 bodygaurd Captains at the same time

Sadly I put the game into my back log, not sure of my percent complete but I think I have the DLC packs.

I should go back and play for a bit.. I played the shit out of it the first week.

They have fixed most of the problems that plagued the release. It is a much better game now. I wouldn't have bought it if it were still in the shape it was at release but now it is a pretty awesome racer.

Nope.... just needed a change of pace for a while. I miss racing and this one has (finally) hit the mark for a awesome racer. I'm still playing SoM but I'll be in this for the foreseeable future. I'm done with Destiny until House of Wolves comes out. I have every single item in the game right now and there is nothing left for me to do there.

    Yeah.
Yeah, finding it hard to get motivated to play Destiny even though there are still some weapons I would like to get.

Does Driveclub support steering wheels? I can't stand driving with a controller.

Yes it supports steering wheels. I don't mind driving with a controller but I'm used to it since I've never driven with a wheel. I've already made a club and design / paint scheme for the club. I held off on buying it because of the release problems but it seems they have those fixed. The higher you rank your club (don't have to race multiplayer just complete events / race against each other / etc...) the more emblems / paint schemes you open up. The graphics are unreal. I've been having a blast just doing time trials and have only raced a handful of the unbelievable amount of tracks.

I'm in the same boat with Destiny. There is nothing left for me to do until HoW comes out. I literally have every weapon / armor set in the game. There is no reason for me to even put the disk in right now. Each character is completely maxed out and nothing more I can do to make them better. I looked last night and I've got 421 shards. WTF am I going to do with those???

    Driveclub is a welcome diversion.
