HAHAHAHA, if I find this damn noise you can jack up my build thread all you want, I'm slowly narrowing it down, soon it will be down to the LCA bushings

I have no recollection of this conversation:anonymous:

Typically the lower control arm bushings do not make noise unless an alignment cam is loose. I'd still bet it is a skid plate making noise or an upper shock bushing.

last time you aligned my truck you asked if i was gonna get new UCA's to get within better numbers

Ill eliminate the UCA's this friday so that leaves a skid plate, the front bumper bolts, or the shocks, maybe motor mounts, or LCA bushings / cam bolts.

Have you put this bumper through a beating yet? This is a sharp bumper and I'm really interested in the lighter weight aluminum version, but I don't want something that will get banged up easily.

I haven't winched on it yet, and haven't drug it on rocks yet, although if I'm dragging that on rocks, they are some big ass rocks!! :) pelfreybilt has a video of tug of war with the aluminum bumper, it's pretty strong!! 55lbs as opposed to 150lbs I'm a big fan of that weight savings.

You considering pelfreybilt for your front bumper?

Yeah, I've had my eye on it for a while and the 10% discount this month basically accounts for shipping. I contacted them and was told there's a 10-12 week wait which sucks. I'm really picky about front bumpers. I think most don't look proportionate to the truck and stick out too far, but the one you have is more complimentary to the truck. It sounds like I'm obsessed with cosmetics. I have two criteria for mods to my truck:

    1) It's gotta serve a practical purpose
    2) It's gotta look ballin'

Pelfreybilt has some of the best looking work in the fab business, anyone that has one knows the craftsmanship is top notch!!! It's stronger than the OEM bumper, can hold a winch for emergencies, rigid fogs and light bar holes are awesome, and it's only 55lbs. I'd say you should jump on the sale!!

Lead time is normal with a lot of the fab shops, it's well worth the wait though!!

I always say peer pressure has no effect on me, but that's proving not to be so true in this case...

Do you have a good profile shot of the bumper? I've been trying to find a direct side shot.

How do you like that Bestop? I camped a good deal in the bed of my truck last summer and thought it'd be nice to have a little more protection, but I'm not sold on getting a hard top. I'd like something that can be stowed a little more easily if I need to remove it from the truck.

Mine is a three hoop and these aren't exactly side pictures but maybe it will give you an idea. I can take a direct profile picture later if you're interested.

More pictures in my build thread also.

Here is a close up from the side buddy, I don't have my frame supports on right now if you notice that missing

I also love my bestop, its great for summer camping/wheeling adventures. Keeps all my gear dry and usually i run with the side windows and back window off, more of a canopy at that point but still shaded, if you plan on sleeping in the back you will probably have to sleep with the tailgate down unless you are under 5 foot tall, the reason I'm such a fan of this instead of other tops is that it folds down quickly to let me use the bed to haul stuff that is tall, great purchase!!
