    Hey all,

I was having issues with hard steering at low speed in my 2009 DCSB SR5 with 307,xxx miles on the ODO. The steering would be immensely heavy to damn near impossible at low to no speed (think parallel parking). I thought the power steering pump or the steering rack was going out.

My mechanic flushed the power steering fluid, and all is good now. Feels like new. I'll see how long it lasts, but flushing the power steering fluid fix the heavy steering issue.

I've read/hear both side on do/don't flush your power steering fluid. Around on TW, I see a lot of don't/never did it and never had an issue, so I never did it, but low and behold, a flush is good preventative maintenance.

    Thank is all,
    -B2Q6

For me P/S flush is the same schedule as coolant, every 5 years. It's cheap and easy, never had a P/S issue.

Power steering fluid is probably the easiest, cleanest, quickest fluid change out of all the fluids on these vehicles and is often overlooked.
