PSA inspect hitch receiver when towing with borrowed truck

    Borrowed my buddy's early 90's F350 to tow a Mini-Excavator because it was too much load for my Tacoma...

    I've never thought to inspect hitch receiver for rust. Lesson Learned.

    Luckily was only driving a low speed pulling into a gas station - could have been very high consequence if it happened on the highway.

    Trailer brake engaged and we were going slowly enough that the trailer took a nose dive and stopped on it’s jack. Don’t think the chains went under tension, they probably would have finished the job and snapped the hitch off completely !
