Puddle light install and review.

It’s been a year, how are these holding up?

Thinking of buying this.

 

I think he’s long gone.
Mine are in for almost a year, work great.
It’s a pita install, but I’m happy.

I’m going to compliment them with some rigid rock lights in the spring.

 

Excellent quality kit, worth the money and the effort. I am very happy I took the time to complete this mod.
As an aside, my interior footwell lights fade to nothing and do not stay dimly lit as I read above and I'm happy for that.

 

My interiors stay dimly lit like the light where the QI charger is. My wife and daughter really like it. Yeah, the kit was great and not to bad to install.

 

I am planning on purchasing this kit for my 2019 Tacoma Sport. One question I have, do the footwell lights stay on all the time, or do they come on with the headlights. I know they come on with the dome light and then fad to dim, which I like. I was just wondering if the footwell lights are always on when the truck is running. Would like them on dim at night but off during the daylight hours. I know this is a old thread but hope someone has the answer. Thanks.

 

I’m fairly certain the interior lights are on whenever your dash lights are on. They’re super dim when the dome light isn’t on. I’ve never noticed them during the day.

 

Thanks for the reply. You answered my questions. I plan on purchasing a set for my truck. I thought the footwell lights would be dim just like the light for the wireless charger. Thanks again. I had just about given up on anybody having this kit and answering my question.

 

an old thread, but I'm surprised more people havent bought these. I just bought some and should be installing them next week after they come. I know a lot of peeps bought the puddle lamps from Meso, but it seems there may have been some minor problems with them. Plus I like the fact they are sold and approved through Toyota, there are 4 of them, and also interior lights, I have those in my Mustang GT and like them. Just my 2 cents. I'm going to also investigate the running of the passenger side wiring over the transfer case/tranny area and installing all of them through the drivers side grommet like another member did.

 

This lighting kit is hard to get. I found out only Southeast Toyota dealers are able to sell them. I have tried to buy them through Gunny and local dealers with no luck.

 

must be why I had to buy mine from Sparks out of South Carolina, there werent many for sale on the web.

 

I missed a set on eBay, $142.50 including shipping. Sparks has them, a little more money plus shipping.

 

Seems to run from the same circuit as @MESO in mirror puddle lights.
I wonder if add these would pull too much amps.

 

they are LEDs so prob pull very minor amperage.

 

Ye, but It is two powerful VLEDs and 4 under body puddle lights.
Wonder if it will be too much.
I guess if they do, the worst thing that can happen is a blown fuse.

 

I'm just hoping on the fact that since I bought them as a Toyota part from a Toyota dealer, that they did their homework and have it figured out (as in fully tested). I didnt see any other posts stating that they have had any blown fuse or overhead light issues.

 

Got a set of these lights. Planning on installing them over the next couple of days.

Got the lights installed and they don’t work. Now the fun begins. These are the Tacoma puddle and footwell lights. None of the lights light. Will start back over the install tomorrow. Anyone who have installed these lights have any suggestions? I’m thinking maybe ground since nothing lights.

 

Got everything working. Went back over the wiring and I had the wires in the A-pillar switched. Once I sorted that out everything started working. Real happy with the puddle lights and the footwell lights.

 

Is the blue wire hooked to the negative wire on the LED lights and the yellow hooked to the + wire on the LED lights
or is it the other way around? I haven't had any luck searching this site.
I am going to attempt to build my own setup.
