Cool. Guessing that’s probably the safest route to go then since it’s “OEM”.

    I have this:
    upload_2022-2-8_23-2-59.jpg
    to substitute this:
    upload_2022-2-8_23-11-15.jpg
It replaces the MAP lamp holder in the overhead console. It allows a parallel connection of the maps lamps to any added lamps (prefer LEDs)
Has the added bonus that the lamps downstream will be ON if the map lamp is selected. You get Unlock, Door with the fade and ON with the MAP lamp selected. One per side can be used. So a left, right or both illumination.

Haha! I hear ya. Just trying to figure out the “best” and safest way to get puddle lights and footwell lights; preferably front and rear footwell lights.

Well, there are those who have the door mirror puddles (MESO) AND the footwells. So far no issues.

If only I could catch the MESO ones in stock. Been watching for a year. Lol. Even signed up for the emails but haven’t received anything yet. :(

VLEDs sells an exterior LEDs strip which you could place under the doors to really get puddle illumination.

That would require me having the slightest idea what I was doing without installation directions. Lmao

Just sent you a message. Figured that was easier. I’ve seen your name all over this forum. Pretty sure you’ve helped me with some wiring in the past as well. Haha. And puppypunter as well

Or you can run led light strips from Amazon on the bottom like Christmas lights. Nothing fancy but it works for me.

Thanks for the info! How long have you had them installed for? Any issues with them?

6 months, no issue. I think I got them from a dealership in SC as its a Southeastern thing. Only certain dealers can get the kits.

Cool. Glad to hear they’re holding up. And yeah, I think it’s only SE dealers that have them. I can order them online though so no biggie there.

few questions for you if you don’t mind:
-if you have side steps did you remove them to install? I heard some people saying the steps get in the way when drilling for the mounting brackets
-do the puddle lights fade on and off
    -do the footwell lights fade
-do the footwell lights have two “settings”? One for full brightness like when opening the door, and then a different one for ambient when you’re driving?

Really like this idea. How long have you had them on the truck? Adhesive holding up? No water/shorting issues?

That's the VLED promo pic. The exterior ones are secured with screws.

Thanks, yea they are great if I ever drive at night but its rare as I drive our Jeep around town. Yes they fade out when the doors shut, locked and walking away. The footwell light fade with the interior lights but do stay on ever so slightly. When its dark they are on a low dim setting which makes it nice for driving in the dark. There is no settings to do its all in the setup, pretty much plug and play as they took a while to put in as I did have to remove the Predators 20 minutes but not an issue. The directions are on line and if you take your time there is no room for error. It seems like a lot but once you drill the holes, mount the light and run the wire thats pretty much it. Once I got all the wires to the drivers side I pulled down the panels and did the wiring which my friend who works for a stereo shop the last 30 years did the wiring in no time flat. I think the wiring is the hardest part as thats not my favorite thing. When walking up to the vehicle when its dark the lights are nice and bright, show nice straight lines as well as lighting the steps on the bars. I never really noticed the interior light ever coming on when approaching the truck at night time, like I said I mostly at home or in another vehicle but since these lights are tied into those wires it makes it really nice on approach.Hope this helps.
