Updated the OP. Retrofitted headlights are gone. Had some issues with the projectors, TRS warrantied them but life is getting busy and I don't have the time to install them again. Truck will be taking on more of a 'transportation only' role so, unfortunately, my build thread will be pretty boring for a while

Thanks! I figure when that time comes, I'll get myself and the little bugger ATV's or dirt bikes to go exploring. Truck will be for getting us there and setting up camp :)

Hey Pugga, I've been searching for ideas like this and saw you post this up on OmegaQuest's thread about Bed camping. I wanted to know about how much weight does yours hold? I know I could possibly put a support system in the middle but was curious to know what you've maxed out on it. :) I've got a truck bed tent and wanted to throw my standard air mattress in there. Trying to convince our 90lb dog to sleep on the tailgate portion will be the pickle...he always wants to sleep right up on us when we camp . Thanks so much! P.S. I love your build! :D

So far, the most I've put on there is a little over 900 lbs of ceramic tile and thin set mix :D My platform is made from 2-2x6's that are placed in the bedside grooves and 3/4" plywood. It's now hinged in the middle for easier removal and I made up 2 small, 6" pieces for the front so I could reach something that slides all the way to the front of the bed without removing the whole platform. I also put eye bolts into the 2x6's and notched the plywood around the bolts so I can still tie things down on the platform.

Thank you for the compliment! If you have any questions or want more pictures of how the platform goes together, just let me know.

OMG that is awesome!!!!! :D And WOW, 900lbs is plently, LOL. Having that front access is smart and something I would definitely like to have. If you've got some extra shots of it that would be great to see but don't go out of your way if you don't. Thanks for the feed back! :)

Yeah, not one of my brighter moments. I wasn't doing the math in the store when I loaded the cart, I was only paying attention to how much floor area I needed to get covered. I did the math when I was carrying all of them into the house.

Side note, the Icon AAL did awesome with that load! Even with that kind of load, I still wasn't planted on the overload. Figure I had to be well over 1,000 lbs total between the tile, the shell, platform and tools. Not one of my brighter moments.

The light bar looks so much better than the brush guard.

Haha, I caught a bunch of crap on here for the brush guard! I liked it, but it finally broke on me and my wife bought the Nfab bar for me for my birthday. I like the bar better, it holds more lights and is more low profile.

Yea it was pretty shinny... people on here don't like shinny. Plus why hide the bumper the early second gen bumpers are so much better looking than the 2012/13... Although some of the trucks on here can pull it off. Mine could not.

I forgot about this 'build' thread. It needs some updating but lately it's become more of a build down thread :( Lately, the only things done to it have been repairs, haven't spent money on the truck in a while.

All projectors are gone, my retro'd fogs, headlight kit all gone. I was having a lot of issues with my carrier bearing. It was causing a take off shutter and a shutter under load as well as vibrations at certain speeds. Replaced that 3 times now (2 were Dormans and they crapped out within 1k miles of install, last one was an OEM). Dormans fixed all the vibes and the shutter but the bearing crapped out quickly. Installed an OEM and the take off shutter came back :annoyed:

Took her in for an alignment and found out everything up front is rusted solid. Alignment numbers aren't terrible but one of my front tires has about a degree of camber, the rest of the numbers are pretty decent. I already replaced all my bushings once and greased the ever-living shit out of everything when I installed them but NE salt won that battle. I think I'll likely just live with it vs. tearing it all apart again.

The other stuff has been general maintenance or elective. Wire wheeled and painted the frame and sliders. I picked up a set of wheels and tires (stock take-offs) where the guy had knocked one side off the bead so I was able to install my TPMS sensors and set the bead again without paying for balancing. Tires balanced out perfectly and that pesky light on my dash finally went off for the first time in years :woot:

Next up, try to fix the 2 door locks that no longer respond and quiet down the blower fan again :frusty:
