Somehow, i suspect there's more to it than you turned down your acceptance...i would be more likely to believe that you wanted SO BAD to be a cop and you couldn't hack it or you couldn't even get interviewed (which is quite possible given your horrendous grammar/spelling).

You don't apply and THEN realize that you think cops have a terrible public image.

If you're so great then PLEASE tell me another way of finding criminals? I've put 11 people in jail for burglary in the past year (never on day shift which really makes it only about 6 months worth of work) and 2 people for armed robbery

MOST of those people were stopped for traffic violations and it pisses them off pretty good...it seems to fly ok with 95% of the people out there because it puts bad guys in jail

My hat goes off to police officials. These men and women put their lives on the line on a daily basis for an average salary of only $30-50K. Think about that. They do not make laws; they are only hired to enforce them. Yea I am aware some laws are bit over the top, but they are there to benefit the greater good. Often times, there are several factors that contribute to the law, and many fail to pass. If you think this law is dumb, how do you think it got a majority vote in the state House and Senate? Please think before you criticize these officers, they deserve more respect than they earn. If you don't agree with the system then why do live in America? The founding fathers created the Constitution to protect this country and its citizens rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It is the duty of these underpaid officials to protect these rights.

I find it humorous when people get busted for something and say "Didn't the cop have anything better to do?". The office IS doing his/her job, enforcing the law, no matter how small an infraction, a law or ordinance was broken. Who is to say which laws are enforced and which are not?

To one, a missing mud flap (or two) might be minor, but I will bet that the person who's windshield is broken by a stone thrown up by that missing-mudflap vehicle does not feel the same way. Believe it or not, most laws exist for a legitimate reason, not just to "keep you down".

wow i leave tacomaworld for four hours and come back to this?!

alright man i am no cop, nor am i family to a cop. but i will tell you this right now. what the fuck do you do in life? seriously, you probably work at walmart or are some punk ass ex con living in a van down by the river bitching about how the "popo" are terrible people in what they do. what is your positive input to society? dont you ever dare call on them if something terrible ever happens. if some one breaks into your house and starts raping you with a nail laden bat, i hope your man enough not to call the police because there all pussies.

i dont care about your views because its free speech but please no on will side with you, so do me a favor as my "asshole, douche nozzle scared popo friend would say " go suck start a shot gun."

now back to the op, i live in pa and my tires are sticking out about 1 inch or more and ive never had a single problem with the police. maybe you just ran into a strict cop?

Cops are the same as everyone else...9 out of 10 are good cops, 1 might be a douche bag. It's a lot like this thread... and just to be clear you are the douche bag in this thread.

So here is some sound advice that I give to you from the bottom of my heart.. and I can't speak for others but Shut your ungrateful douche bag mouth, no one gives a flying fuck what your opinions on cops are.

I would like to end by saying thanks and fuck you.

X2. Exactly my point statistics show that only 1 or less percent of law enforcement is crooked. Skillet, you must be a felon?
