also...youre right...spend 12 hours a day driving and shit is bound to happen...sometimes its unavoidable...

we had an officer wreck her car last week...running full lights/sirens...slowed slightly at an intersection (she had the green light anyways) and a car ran the redlight and tboned her patrol car...shit happens...

It isn't, although it seems as if some departments believe they are above the law.

There is a few SAPD cars around town that have full on limo tint. Not only are all of the side and rear windows limo tinted, there is 40% over the entirety of the windshield. Absolutely ridiculous.

I wouldn't want my car like that...and tinted windows suck for night ops. It's a necessary evil when I work dayshift though..I also enjoy not feeling like I'm in an aquarium and people are staring at me like a fish. LoL!!

We used to be able to apply tint on our own $ but a few of our officers thought they were also above the law and got mirror tint...that ended that...now only our K9 and narc cars get tint

Damn it Chris ...I hate getting stared at when I'm waiting at a traffic light. But I have to look around when I'm stopped there. This ensures I'm not getting crept up on for an ambush. It's a safety thing I do and I catch people looking at me all the time..:anonymous:

I guess that little badge on the left must be standard. I assumed you were sheriff by that.....my bad!

    No bagging on cops...

Like Rodney King says "Why can't we all just get along?" :D

Hey now I didn't mean that all cops are evil or this or that. Simply stating from my observations that the ratio of bad drivers in cops vs civ were higher. Then again, a lot of my recent observations are in 'Copa which... pretty much explains it all. I've even seen the moto cops dump their bike trying to get on sidewalks and crap.... I mean come on really?

Yes though, for the record there are a ton of bad drivers out there no matter what field you do or don't work. It is however quite a bit more frustrating to have the people that should be leading by example do worse than some citizens drive even while talking on a cell phone. Just say'n.

I don't mean disrespect, I know a lot of the officers do drive really well and have safety first in mind, I respect that. However not all are equal, that was all I meant. I do realise that there are times lights and sirens are off intentionally while getting to a scene... but blowing through a 35mph intersection at 50 while the light just turned red ain't one of them... don't care what the situation is.

I completely understand what you're getting at. I do have to respect your opinion. Not too familiar with the guys there in the town of Maricopa, but can understand your frustrations.
