I can hear a rotational sound even in the truck. At first I thought it was the tire/wheel, however now I realize it's under the hood.... I suck at taking these vids. This is two out of five taken. If a shot at something else is needed, lemme know & I'll see what I can do.... Maybe I should just try using the phone....

I can't hear anything myself, but I'm deaf in one ear and phone microphones aren't the best at picking up these noises. I'd suggest using an automotive stethoscope to try and pinpoint futher. Spraying some soapy water on each pulley one by one (listening for a change/reduction in the noise), can also help. Don't rule out an idler pulley or fan clutch either. Idler pulley tends to go first and more frequently than others, so I'd rule that one out first

Does it make the noise your hearing with the HVAC control on dash in off position?

That's what I'm wonderin'. Would it make that whiney noise when the engine is revved? I don't think that got picked up very well on the vid recording.

You tried loosening the alternator belt or removing it to see if stops

Oh yeah… ..if it’s the alternator you should know within a couple seconds if the noise stops…the power steering / water pump will still be turning

& I've been calling it the wrong name. Being the fan belt, if the noise stops, wouldn't that also mean it could have something to do with the fan or harmonic balancer?

Well.. you would need to visually check your harmonic balancer… just looking at the video your balancer looks ok…you have 2 belts, one on the fan and alternator, and the other on the fan and power steering pump

Ok. Good. I looked up how to tell if the balancer was off & couldn't find much as far as a visual check....

As I'm watching these, what keeps catching my eye is the closest underside rib of the alt belt. These two vids where taken on two different days, different lighting, yet that rib looks shiny in both. I wonder if the pulley is off or needs to be adjusted....

First u need to see which belt is turning the item that's causing the noise to eliminate the other parts.
Take the alternator belt off and see if the sound goes away.
It could be the alternator or the fan clutch or the fan bracket bearing.
If the noise is still there with alternator belt off look at steering pump ,
The noise could be coming from the timing belt idler pulley too.
When was the t belt and bearings replaced last?
You will tell right away when you remove the alternator belt if it's one of those 3 items

Do you have a mechanic stephiscope?

    I do have a stethoscope.

The timing belt was done around 50,000 miles back. I don’t recall doing any bearings though. Followed Tim’s vid & did everything in it plus the idler pulley….
