I figured the LT section would be the best place for this as most likely if anyone has done it, it's in here.

My main concern is if it can be done on a 2nd gen with the stock fender flares. I was just looking to gain another 1.5-2", so not quite the extent of glass bedsides, but a little more than stock.

Mainly I was curious if it could be done while keeping the stock flares because of them attaching with clips through the body and not the edge of the fender liner. Any insight on this would be appreciated. Thanks!

I think Sarah at All Pro Offroad had her rear fenders pulled (removed flares). Looks really good IMO. Pictures are on their Facebook account. I'd link them, but I don't use Facebook.

Hmm, I did not find any images that show her Tacoma with pulled bedsides, I'm interested as well, use to do that to my rangers.

Someone made a thread very recently where they trimmed the bed and fender flare. It looked pretty good when it was done actually. I'll see if I can find it.

it should not cost that much.... why is paint needed? do 2nd gens need paint when pulling bedsides?

all you need to do for a first gen is cut off all the bedside supports, get a 2x4, put it up there, use a bottle jack to push out the 2x4 which is against the bedside, just dont go too far or you will crinkle the bedsides....

you seem to forget when you pull the plastic fender flare there will be clip holes in the fender that need to be filled and painted.

very interested in this, since my All Pro pack rack uses the bedsides for support.
