Is the traction control inoperable in 4 lo? I'm guessing it is. But if not...I'd kill that 1st

This is the funniest thing I've seen today  Back in the day I worked for the power company trimming trees out of power lines and have removed untold numbers of trees that size. The guy's got a big complicated rig that creates a huge mess of dirt and root. We'd just cut it down as close to the ground as we could get it and then use a stump grinder to remove the rest. It was 4 hours tops starting from a full tree to nothing but a small pile of chips where the tree used to be. Admittedly there was a bunch of equipment involved that the average guy doesn't have. But, since then I've rented all of those same tools, including the stump grinder, from my local rental place.

Thanks for all the input. I might bitch out but if I don't I'll for sure post video. It's rooted pretty damn good and it's right by the garage foundation. I might spend a bit more time taking out some aggression with the pick axe and then give it a try.

PS shoe was for size reference.

@oldschoolczar , many are saying what my first thought was, I did it with my old MT truck but would not with my new 3rd gen. AT- at least not until it gets a little more "broken in", like at 120k miles ;)
TW delivers again IMO- informative and amusing in the same thread. Hope everything goes smoothly for you.

Have you ever seen the videos of people doing just that and breaking a back window from shit flying through the air?? Any little rocks that may be in there can come out fling when one of the roots snap. Wouldn't do it. Just my 2 cents..

Well I think you should do it with a video.. But if you want to be a bitch about it..:)
    Then,
You could look up a local person who owns a stumper grinder... I had one come over and he just walked behind it, and controlled it via joystick... He ground down several places stumps/roots with ease. It was pretty reasonably priced too.
With it being just one, it'd probably be cheap... Look into that, OR man up and DO IT and POST THE VIDEO like everybody wants to see, don't give us blue balls about it.

PS those Hoka shoes are comfy.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
Depends a lot on how much moisture is in the surface layers of the ground. Like Smitty said -- you will spin out before you do damage to anything --if you are on dirt. Concrete drive = more traction. Do it slow and steady -- you will know right away if it can be done without any digging. Also another factor is the type of shrub/tree it was --some have better root systems than others.
Good luck --take it easy --jerks do you no good --make sure you use a good chain and get spectators --out of harms way. I have done many (with my -now gone F150 5.4-- some successful --some NOT I have not done this yet with my taco!
