Pulling Snugtop closed from the inside!

How are you all closing your camper shells when inside? Mine has no interior handles!

 

Does it have a way to open it from the inside?

 

Yes. There is a tiny safety latch on the locking mechanism.

 

My kidnapper closes it for me. He's kinda cool like that.


Fab up a handle, post pics here, earn some internet points.

No place on the frame to make a loop out of nylon strap and a self tapping screw?

 

The SnugTop rear window is just a piece of glass with bonded hinges and a fiberglass (or plastic) lower trim piece with seal on that. The only other stuff to try to attach to are the rods that connect to the key cylinder which latch to the inside pieces on the main body of the shell.

So, my suggestion is to loop some paracord to those rods and use that as your handle.

IF you have a much newer Snugtop and they have covered those rods, then it's likely a plastic cover. Remove that and install some type of housing cabinet drawer pull to that and when you're inside, don't yank too hard on it.

 

Just grab a suction cup ring and call it a day

I have no issue closing mine by the inside latch . Not sure what year / model you have but I have a 2015 XTR .

Damn - just got a new Snugtop Rebel and I realized this was an issue after I got home... Weird....

 

I now use two suction cups. One in each lower corner. Have to make sure you get a good seal, but it works.

By the way I emailed Snugtop to ask them how we're supposed to close the door from the inside. No answer....

 

Scratch that. SeaSucker brand hand grips are way more reliable and easier to use. Well worth the extra money! Solved for good.

 

Yep. I was going to suggest something like that. Either a shower handle or dent puller. Both are super cheap.

I actually use the tire as a step and crawl in through the windoor of my hi-liner.

 

I recommend two.
