    Hello All,

I am looking to buy this kit in the next day or so.
    http://www.headstrongoffroad.com/store/p191/FOX_Level_3_Kit_-_05__Tacoma.html

The front comes adjusted to 2" lift. I am going to adjust it to 2.5" for a little more lift. Given that i want the truck to be level. The Progressive AAL with overload will give the rear 2" of lift. Seems that this would keep the stock rake correct? Should i lift the rear at all? Will the performance gain of an progressive ALL and additional lift be better than the look of a level rig?

The Dakar would do the lift as well right? not sure what i wanna do about that yet. I have the stock skid plates for the moment. don't really plan on doing any heavy bumpers or anything like that.

That looks really nice. notice you don't have the resi. Do you regret that? I am in the desert so long dirt roads are a lot of my off roading. figured the resi will help on some of those trails. Still dont know if i wanna lift the rear or just put the shocks on. Just putting the shocks on i can adjust the front to level the truck. but if i put the rear lift on it will keep the factory rake.

Cool. Thanks for the advice. I might as well lift the rear at the same time.

So you don't blow out those small ones, or is this simply a mall crawler build?

You'll be fine with the 2.0 unless you're going 60 mph through constant washboards.

To be honest most on here hardly need even the 2.0 with resi let alone a 2.5" diameter shock with resi. I run 2.5 with resi, but than again my truck is a dedicated desert toy. For a weekend worrier though a quality 2.0 is usually all that's needed, if you have resies you are dialed. Shit I'm old school, back in the 80's all we had was shitty 2.0 twin tube shocks and we would beat the shit out of our trucks.

    Blow a shock
Perhaps heat them up to a degree where they are not performing as intended.

I had 3.0 piggyback bypasses on my old truck and got them warmed up good sometimes. Couldn't imagine what 2.0s would feel like. But that's why I asked, is this for a mall crawler or what is the truck being used for?

100% this. Those 2.0 w/ Resi shocks will treat you well OP. If by some act of god you manage to fuck up enough to blow one, move to the 2.5. But learn by doing in this case.

lol, because someone isn't going over washboard whoops at 60mph means their doing a mall-crawler build?

Plenty of other kinds of off-roading that don't involve speeding over rough terrain.
