I'm about to purchase the Toytec Boss kit for my 2014 TRD OR. I will be purchasing the upper control arm option.

My question is about the options for the rear springs. Their website is confusing me and I want to make sure I do this right and don't end up buying the wrong thing and having to send it back.

My truck has four leaf springs in the rear pack. They say the following for the rear leaf spring options:

    "
Choose Rear Lift Options in drop down:
    - Toytec 2” lift rear Add-A-Leafs. This long style AAL offers a great ride and has anti-friction pads already installed. For 3 leaf NON-TSB Tacoma springs.
    - Toytec 1.5" rear lift Add-A-Leafs for TSB 4 leaf Tacoma springs. May also be installed in 3 leaf Tacoma springs for less lift.
    - Toytec 1.5" rear lift block- Keeps the factory ride and feel in the back of your Tacoma- Not advised for extra rear weight
    - Old Man Emu Dakar rear leaf springs-OME CS047R
**NOTE: Complete Rear OME Dakar Spring Upgrade. The third leaf within the CS047R leaf pack may be removed for less lift/softer ride.
Includes bushings, New longer U-Bolts, and additional shipping to the 48 states, Alaska and Hawaii will have additional shipping charges due, we will call with additional shipping total.

** SOME Tacoma models with a total of 4 leafs (3 main leafs, 1 overload) in the rear leaf pack require our TSB AAL. Please count how many leafs you have before ordering and choose from dropdown menu above **"

I'm looking at options 2 (1.5" AAL for TSB four-leaf Tacos, which mine appears to be) and the OME Dakar CS047R leaf pack. I'm confused about two things. The first is that last bit with the double asterisks about how TSB trucks "require" the 1.5" leaf pack and to please count yada yada yada. If I buy this lift kit, am I forced to go with this particular leaf pack and no other will work? The second is that if I CAN run either the 1.5" pack or the OME, what exactly do I get by spending the additional $400+ on the OME? It looks to me like I get an extra half-inch of lift, a stiffer ride, and less sag if I'm towing a heavy load, which I won't really be doing. Are there additional benefits to the OME leaf pack that make it worth it for my application (which doesn't really include heavy towing)?

Thanks, folks. I'd like to order this in the next couple of days.

I am running the OME's and they are definitely a stiffer ride than factory but it's stiff in a good way if that makes sense. Also people have compared add a leafs to a band aid fix and most will sag and wear out just like stock springs whether you are hauling or not. Based on my personal experience the extra money for the OME's is worth it.

My advice, call toytec and ask them.

My other advice: spend $300 more and get Icon.
