I'm kind of new here and new to owing trucks in general. So I am looking for any assistance I can get. About 2 months ago I noticed a pulsing vibration at lower speeds.

What I know so far, the vibration almost feels like a grinding when it’s happening. It’s a pulsing vibration that I can feel in the floor and the steering wheel. It happens around 30-45 mph. It also comes and goes, once I hit the highway or drive at a higher speed for a few minutes it seems fine until I let the truck sit for a while.

A little background about my situation. I bought my Tacoma back in July. About 2 months ago I noticed a pulsing vibration that I could feel in the floor where I rest my left foot and even feel it in the steering wheel. It’s not really loud or forceful but it’s there. Since it is still under warranty I took it to my local Toyota dealer and during the trip there I noticed the vibration went away. They did their standard once over and took it for a short drive, but since it wasn’t happening they were unwilling to look into it any further, and told me to bring it back if it happened again. The next day it did, so I called and drove straight there. By the time I got off the highway it had gone away again. The drove if for less than 2 miles and handed it back to me with a new answer. “Any vibrations I feel or here are completely normal on the 2016 TRD Off Road model”. I don’t know a lot about trucks yet, but I know what I’m feeling isn’t normal.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Does it go away in 4wd? Sounds very familiar to most here. Check that first. if it does, its most likely the needle bearing on the drivers side CV. So many here have had this (myself included). East Coast Gear Supply makes a replacement bushing (about $60). Have that installed and vibes disappear! It is warrantied but they'll replace it with another needle bearing.

I will check as soon as I leave work and report back. Are they hard to replace if that turns out to be the issue?

Whether it's hard or not really depends on your experience with working on trucks. If you've ever replaced a CV axle then it's not that bad. It's pretty much the same job.

If you've never done anything like that it's probably not something that you'll want to do yourself.

With the right tools and room to work it should take only about 2 hours.

The vibrations did go away when in 4wd. I have it at the dealer now, so they can try and diagnose the issue.

    few things here and there.

    Revival!

Experiencing the same thing. Just curious if it’s an expensive fix to have a shop do it for me. Any insight?
