    Hi!

No matter what the fuel level is, I cannot pump gas into my Tacoma without it shutting off. This is not the pump's fault (as all pumps do it) and the nozzle is simply detecting a full tank based on its sensor (Venturi effect?).

So something must be wrong on my Tacoma's end, but I'm too new to understand what exactly it is. Please forgive my ignorance, I'm not much of a car guy, but willing to learn. Thanks for any help!

Edit: from the responses thus far, I'm looking into whether something is clogging the vent valve or if I flooded the charcoal cannister. Pls let me know if I'm way off base.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Quite possible your vent has ended up full of dirt over the years.

A crushed or blocked vent hose

Some pumps are so fast it takes some practice to learn the tricks.

I seem to have trouble with using a new station away from the normal one.

Sounds like the tank vent hose is clogged and not allowing vapor/air to escape which triggers the gas pump/handle to stop.

Did this start all of a sudden?
Or has it been doing this for a while, but has gotten worse recently?

This has been happening for a while. It's hard to say, but it's possible that in the beginning, the pump would go for 4-5 seconds before shutting off. Right now, the pump is going for 2-3 seconds before shutting off.
