Long story short, my cat is there only in appearance, I get around the code issue because the secondary o2 sensor sits in a modified well. My question is, would you bother to install one? It’s been like this since I have owned it. I have read that the lack of that back pressure effects low end power, which I believe is going on. It’s kinda a dog off a stop. What would you do? Thanks

If you don`t need it for emissions I would not worry.

How did you find out just happen to look ??

How long have you had the truck ??

    4 run, 2 don't
If emissions aren't an issue, cut it out and have a pipe welded in lieu of it.

Be surprised the amount of weight you'll save.

The guy I bought it from 4 yrs ago told me he knocked all the catalyst out and made the little extension tube for the downstream sensor. My problem is the cat that’s in there is a crappy one with the swivel/flared flange that makes it tough to get a good seal at the front pipe. Forever changing out gaskets.

:kona: Actually, this is a perfect reason to buy a mig welder. Length of pipe, flange... hmm, maybe a Harbor Freight pipe bender too....

Is yours a 2.7? I have a straight pipe to replace the punched cat (2nd cat) if you want. Pay for shipping only.

    Pm if interested.
