I would go with the 2015 Pro. This is based on the vehicle being clean. The 2106 was the first year on the new gen.

I’d take the 15’ Pro...16’ off-road are a dime a dozen plus I never buy the first year of a new design even if it’s a Toyota and I’ve been a shareholder in Toyota since 73’.

The Pro gets my vote. You will spend less $ on a vehicle that had more value/options.
Unless it's a color you can't live with or looks like it wasn't cared for by previous owner.

15 pro as long as it was maintained.
    Good luck with your decision.

Welcome to the forum. I’d say drive both and get the one that makes you feel better.

both have pros and cons. Are you going to wheel it? If so, what do you plan on doing tire size wise? 2016+ have a stronger rear end. If this isnt an issue then this isn't really anything to worry about. If these are automatics I would strongly advise that you drive both very very well. A lot of people complain the powerband of the 3.5L, weird torque curve, and the shifting habits of the 6spd in the 3rd gens.

You probably can't go wrong assuming both are equally as well maintained and have no issues, clean, like them the same after driving, and you like the color of each. If you could pay cash for one and not the other then I would recommend the 15 and avoid debt.

As someone who owns a 3rd gen OR on a 2nd gen pro suspension, make sure you pay attention to the ride on both, they are very different. Lots of people complain about the OR being too soft, but the 2nd gen pro setup is fairly firm.

Either one is a fine truck and should last you awhile with minimum care.

How many miles per year do you drive? Could be a factor if it's less/more than what is typical... Then again it's a Toyota. More just thinking your resale a few years down the road. I'd lean toward the 16 and upgrade the suspension if you really need to. '16 will be the "old" style here in a year or so and the '15 will be 2 models old. Not that it matters if you don't care... but it may to buyers in the future.

I'd go with the 2016. I don't have much experience with the 2nd gens but the dated interior really gets me. Also, the auto on my 3rd gen never bothered me until I got bigger tires and steel skids on it.

They are both overpriced, but If I just had to have a TRD, I would go with the 15
