I am looking at purchasing a blue 1980 Toyota Hilux 4x4. It has very low miles and is mostly all original, but has had a lift kit added to it. Normally that wouldn't bother me, but I'm not familiar with the type of lift installed by the previous owner.

It appears to be some sort of EBay-type Duetsch Tech lift with custom shock hoops on the front and dual shocks. And some sort of lift brace on the axles. It also has dual shocks for the steering stabilizer. Can anyone ID this lift?

If it's merely bolt on, and can be converted back to stock, that's no big deal to me. But if it's something welded to the frame or axles, that makes it less appealing.

    Thanks!

@bigwill837 Sorry for the late reply but I just ran across your post and see that you have no answers yet. Good looking truck! It is hard to tell for sure but it appears that the double shock mounts are bolt on. These were common as an aftermarket accessory for the 1979-1985 models. You should be able to remove the shocks and then simply unbolt the double shock bracket from the front. The rear can be converted back to single shocks just as easily. The axles have bolt on gussets that may have been sold by the now defunct Downey Toyota. These gussets again simply unbolt and can be discarded. The dual steering stabilized most likely was made by Downey Toyota or Rancho. Again the brackets can be unbolted, discarded, and a single stablizer used. As far as the lift it is hard to tell as many company's made 3 and 5 inch lifts for the 79-81 Toyota pickups. I would guess possible Downey Toyota.
