What's up guys, new member here and stoked to be apart of the group. I'm buying a new 17 Tacoma trd off road on Monday and I have the option to get the 16" trd pro rims with 265 75r16 tires or the 17" trd pro black matte rims not sure of the tire size (what should I ask for if I have the choice). Which rim would you choose? They are offering to credit the stock rims and tires or should I sell them? Don't want any rubbing but I plan on doing a max 3" lift in the future. Thanks for any help!?!?

Hey man, I swapped my wheels and got a good discount before I left the lot. Not sure exactly the TRD Pro rims you are talking about but I'd say to swap them with the dealer. If they do labor and parts covered for swapping too then just use them.

On 17 inch rims like the TRD Pro max you can run with stock config and no rubbing is 265/70/17... that's the same as a 265/75/16 FYSA

If it has front mud flaps you're going to want to remove them or it will rub.

I have the 16s in bronze... they are nice. Not sure what 17s you are talking about. I thought the new pro came with 16s *not sure though*

Get the 16" pro rims if you're referring to the 2017 pro tacoma. Less people have them.

These are the pictures of 16" rims and tires my sales guy sent me. He hasn't sent the pictures for the 17" ones yet. Securekey I think that's them. I like the 16" would prefer the Matte instead of the gloss on them though. They are the ones I will probably get but I will wait to see the pictures he sends of the 17". There no real benefit either way just the look right?

Some guys like 16s because you get a taller sidewall. Better offroad etc. But I would doubt there is any significant difference with a 16 vs 17 imo Get the ones you like the best.

The rims you posted above look awesome.

The ones on post #9 are the 17 matte black pro wheels. Something about those 16'same don't look quite right.

I know they are official Toyota wheels. I guess I should have said they don't look quite right "to me" all flat surface and gloss black. I have the 17" matte black and they are similar button different. The 17's have the 3D raised areas and 2 slots around the outside where the 16'same are flat. Just me..I guess that are actually different in many ways.IMG950782.jpg 2014_SEMA_2015_TRD_4Runner_001_62856_43536_low.jpg

I run 15s on my off road vehicle. So I'd go with the smaller ones for the taller sidewall.

20tacoma17 ahh ok my picture was from the 2017 tacoma trd pro 16" and yours must be from the 4 runner trd pro 17". These are the two I'm deciding between. I'm leaning towards the 16"

The 16" trd pro wheels have a different offset than the 17". You'll get 1" wider track with the 16", personally I'd go with those simply for the wider track. That applies to the 16" & 17" black trd pro wheels shown above, not the 16" wheels shown with a silver rim / beadlock.
