Depending on the plug in the glove box, there could be any number of tech accessories plugged in there. When I owned my S/C 1st Gen I had thoughts of mounting an AEM FIC6 piggyback ECU to dial in fueling and would have mounted it in the glovebox due to its proximity to the main ECU. My guess it was something the owner unplugged and removed before taking it to auction.

URD also claims that the 7th injector helps cool the supercharger with the fuel spray but I don't really buy that. I monitor my air intake temps with the Torque app and they never really changed with the 7th injector

In my opinion, methanol injection is the best way to go. Methanol is wayyyy more effective at cooling (and cleaning) the intake and it also increases the octane of the fuel mixture which enriches it and prevents you from running lean.

Downside to methanol injection is that you have to refill the methanol tank every so often

Thank you guys! This is the information I really couldn't find searching for hours last night.

I don't think it has a 7th injector but I will double check. I have a picture of the plug and the Innovate box which I think it just for the fuel/air gauge from what I am gathering. Give me a minute for the photos.

There are a lot of people that don't run any fuel mods with their 3.4l superchargers...they just bolt it on and they're completely fine. In my experience though, and a lot of other's, the engine tends to run lean. You'll know it's running lean when you start to hit boost and you hear what sounds like marbles in a can rattling around coming from the engine. That's a bad sound and if you hear it, you want to let off the throttle until it goes away. Running too lean for too long will destroy an engine, if you're lucky it'll just burn out your cats first (happened to me).

If he doesn't have any fuel mods done to it I wouldn't necessarily worry, he may have been one of the lucky ones that never required it and he may not have driven the truck around like a raped ape. The AFR gauge is a good sign like I mentioned earlier, every boosted truck should have one.

7th injector is just one option for fuel mods...methanol injection or larger 6 primary injectors controlled by the FIC6 unit are other options as well.

If I recall correctly, the Torque app measures air intake temps at the MAF, so the Torque app would not show the cooling effect of the added fuel since you would be spraying the methanol after the MAF. I'm not saying the 7th injector cools the air, but I am saying the Torque app wouldn't be able to tell you.

I'm not sure what that Innovate plug is for but then again I don't have an Innovate AFR gauge, I have an AEM one.

Do you have a pic of the dash? The gauge should be somewhere on the dash usually next to the boost gauge. Some people put them on the steering wheel or by the radio controls though

You know it's funny...for years I've thought that the 7th wasn't doing anything for the IAT because my readings didn't change but right after I made that post in this thread, it dawned on me that what you just said is probably the case lol. I hadn't thought of that before but you're probably right, I'm just not able to get a reading on the temp from the supercharger itself.

I'd have to see what it displays to know for sure...but it looks like it probably is an AFR gauge. A boost gauge will have a needle usually and the AFRs are usually digital displays.

In closed loop you want your AFRs to be at or near 14.7. Once you start hitting boost and especially when you get into open loop (wide open throttle) you want to see that number in the low 11s - 12s depending on boost. If you're in open loop and your AFRs are still around 14 then you're running lean

Understanding AFRs in detail is a whole 'nother topic though and varies on each setup but that's it in a nutshell

I had an Innovate AFR gauge that had that same serial port (or whatever it is) plug. I believe it was an older way to data log AFR's.

You must be a mind reader because that was my next question. What is the proper reading. Haha, thanks for all your help. At least I have a little bit more knowledge going into this purchase. The truck is so clean inside and out whoever drove it took good care of it by having the gauge in there to monitor.

it took me forever to get a slight grasp on understand AFRs, open/closed loop, rich versus lean, etc. It'll make your head spin reading into it all in detail because each of those is a huge topic in itself. But understanding the gist of it is better than nothing, it wasn't until my OEM cats failed with only ~50k miles on them that I realized I needed to do something to help mine out. Right now I'm only running the 7th which mostly solved my lean issues but I still need to fine tune it, which is hard to do because the software for the 7th injector is very outdated and you need an old version of Windows to mess with it. Another reason why I think methanol is a better idea

When you get it, please post pics here. I sold my 1st gen (that I bought new) last May and, in many ways, regret it.

quick google search shows thats an older version of this:
    https://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/lc1.php

a Wideband Lamda sensor - something like an additional O2 sensor for monitoring.

dont know what that plug is though..

EDIT: the serial plug comes with the LC-1 kit
