Anyone know how to find the part number for a purge VSV on my 2006 v6 prerunner? I've searched for about 2 hours now on google and this forum and can't find it. However, I'm pretty sure I've seen it on here before. Even the FSM is of no help, unless i'm just not looking in the right place.

Well, sure makes things easier if you just take the damn part off of the truck and look at the number! Anyhow, for anyone who has a purge vsv stuck open(codes p0441 with P0455), the part number for a new purge vsv is 90910-ac001.

Where is the VSV located? What does it look like? I have a P0441 code and want to check mine.

Top, drivers side of engine, more towards the rear/firewall side of things. Has 2 vacuum lines, one to the engine that is mostly out of sight except were it connects to the VSV and one coming out of the VSV into the open space between engine and fender. The latter runs back to the evap canister at the fuel tank.

So... you'll see two vacuum lines and a small wire harness on it and one bolt holding the unit on. I'll try to get some pics for it tomorrow cuz I know I'm not doing a great job of describing it here.

Here's my first attempt at putting some pics on this forum, see attached...

The purge VSV has the red highlights. On the close up pic, I added some red lines to show the route of the vacuum lines and a circle to highlight the wire harness. The one bolt holding this all on is below the wire harness, so it didn't show up in the pics.

I have the FSM and it contains a table of likely causes for the various codes related to emmissions controls/EVAP. Is P0441 the only code you're seeing? Let me know and I'll give you a summary of what the FSM says.

I was getting some other code, but I tried looking it up and there was no reference for it. I forget what it is right now. Mostly just p0441. When my buddy is back in town I'll get him to plug my truck back in

I have the same codes P0441 and P0455, is VSV the only thing this could be?

For that particular combination of codes, the FSM states it is either a gross leak in the line or the VSV is stuck open. Easiest thing to test is take the VSV off and simply try to blow air through the ports that the vacuum lines connect to. Without power applied, the VSV solenoid should be closed. If you can blow air through it when it is removed from your truck, then it must be stuck open.

This was the case for me and is the most likely cause. Got a used purge VSV off of eBay for $25, but a salvage yard might be an even cheaper bet. I think it runs about $70 brand new.

Anyhow, start with that, since it's super easy to test. If you can't blow air through it because it is good(not stuck open), let me know and I'll try to sum up the FSM instructions for diagnosing a gross leak.
