I really like the modified gorilla tape trimming technique...MacGyver indeed.

I was wondering if maybe my issue may be similar...a small crack developing in the boot edge?
because after i wiped everything off and ran a few miles, i'm seeing the grease again slightly...

I was thinking of putting some RTV stuff i have to do something similar?

    hmmm.

I used this from O'Reilly's. It's a 4 oz tube but I think I could have used more, maybe even two tubes if I'm being honest. A bit was left in the grease gun and grease gun hose. Any cv joint grease should do.Screenshot_20190907-134650_Chrome.jpg

The crack on mine wasnt an obvious open hole. I cleaned the boot and then drove it on the highway to spin more grease out to find where it was leaking from. That's the spot I stuck the needle in to refill. Notice my yellow marks on the boot so I knew where to patch.

I really like the RTV idea. Flexible, temperature tolerant, and pretty tough. Getting any glue to stick well to that boot will be tough, hence the roughing with sandpaper and covering with tape.

If anyone has any better tape suggestions then let's hear 'em!

Nice job. You could have been in a M*A*S*H unit.
