There seems to be two different levels of speed sensing/control. A fine detailed speed and a gross speed control. For the CRAWL & MTS to work a fine degree of movement is detected at each wheel and used for the traction control used in the CRAWL & MTS. For the Radio control and others, i.e. not allowing the adjustment of certain things from the radio head while moving. I think it is this last one that is in question here. In addition to the radio and navigation this control also goes to the Inverter (turning it down to 100Watts), the Certification ECU and the Engine ECU.

The OP may have the ability to adjust those things on the radio head in movement that are not suppose to be adjustable at speed. If so, I suspect the Combo Meter or some part of the wiring is going bad.

Also, when you use the Rough Country speedometer control (also applies to the manufacture that I can't remember) it corrects the displayed speed on the Combo Meter, but the vehicle still outputs the old factory wheel calculated speed via the OBD port.

I misread this the first time and thought you pressed the Start/Stop button in reverse. Let's look at this later.

Please can you just do the moving test over say 5MPH and push the Start/Stop button to confirm the problem. I have been doing this very thing all day to see just how a properly operating vehicle behaves and have also held the button in to stop the engine while in a parking lot. No trouble, no damage, a lot of flashing lights.

Your dedication to this is admirable and inspirational! In addition to pressing the ignition button over 5 mph, it would be interesting to know if OP can make those adjustments on the stereo at higher speed. Like, can he read the content of text messages at speed?

You'll have to give him some direction on those types of things as I have no memory of just why I disabled those features on my radio. Or maybe I didn't and don't remember that too.

That’s just the only feature I’m familiar with being speed locked. Could you list the stereo settings that can’t be changed at speed perhaps?
I enjoy troubleshooting, maybe too much. Drives me nuts when electronic wizardry doesn’t work as designed. Mechanical issues can be visible and I have a chance of figuring out what’s wrong just by poking around. Circuits and software? Not so much

Nope, don’t remember. The manual has them somewhere, so say the many commenters that constantly say to consult the manual.
