Push me in a direction, what would you pick?

Ok guys, its obvious im indecisive...
So got myself in a pickle.
Dont want a 4 wheel drive so lets not go there, this is about a white sport vs an sr5, both with upgrade packages
I have 2 vehicles reserved & I keep flip flopping
sr5 upgrade is $42700 msrp & will be getting $3300 off, will be getting it for $39K
trd sport is $47,284 msrp will be getting it for $42,865, sweet deal from my previous employer, will have a 2 hour drive or train ride to source..
both trucks will be here early novemeber.
git message from sales guy, sr5 build started yesterday, theyre built quick, will be done next week.

Not that much of a price difference!
theres just things I like on the sr5 that im happy enough with & making decision hard...

The sr5 1 piece fender & flares, looks like a sharper contrast / pop & 1 piece = no seams.
Vs the add-on flares, are more of a gradual transition.
The sr5 fender flares just look clean to me, but yes, has smaller vent on sr5 vs s
The sport hood? Yeah makes it look more aggressive but never though I had to have it.
Sport has 14", thats in my mind is a bonus.
sport has 2 tone seats which will most likely get seat covers for protection regardless.
sport has power seats, nice but totally ok with manual seats.
The dual gauge cluster...
moon roof, meh....
not a fan of the sport wheels, maybe they will grow on me, or forced to swap.
I was actually just going to powdercoat sr5 wheels black, I think it looks like a decent wheel for a stock wheel.

Don’t overthink it, get what you want and can afford.

 

Not sure about the options on the SR5, but I'm going to assume the Sport is better equipped (e.g., better wheel, interior...) The Sport also looks better and for a $3K diff, I would go with Sport. I went through the same scenario, comparing a fully loaded SR5 (with 4 whl drive, etc... ) and the OFF Road. If I can recall the differential was around $3K. I bought the Off-Road and have been enjoying ever since. This may help, although it's comparing the SR5 with a fully loaded Sport:

I chose the SR5 for two main reasons; 1) cost, and 2) I simply didn't want all of those fancy trim features (that I'll probably never use).
Some Sport owners complain about excessive hood flex, I wouldn't know if it's significant or not. To me the more functional difference is in the tires and wheel diameter. I happen to be fine with 17" wheels, but the Toyo street tires were unacceptable. Anyway, I wanted the option to replace them with exactly what I wanted, BFG KO3's.
Both models have a donut spare, flimsy under-engine "gravel guard", and no cross member (thanks Toyota). But all of that is easily modified.
And since I'd add seat covers and full-coverage floor mats on either, those interior OEM trims don't mean much to me.
'Just my perspective, make your own choice after you test drive each.

 

For such a small difference I would go with the sport.
Have you seen the 14" screen in person? It is extremely nice to have.
The dual gauge cluster is also very nice and that combined with the 14" screen gives the truck a slight feeling of luxury.
I have manual seats and didn't care about power seats, sometimes on longer drives I do wish I opted for the power seats for more fine tuning my seating position.
I think the sport hood looks great and unless I am staring at the hood, which I never do, I don't notice the flutter. I am too busy looking at my surroundings and watching the boost gauge.
Whichever you choose you are going to end up with a great truck and my response may be biased since I have a sport.

 

My wife found the seats in TRD grade to be better for her back. I thought they all could work.

 

I go for the sport because of the auto tailgate and the 110 outlet in the bed

 

What's on the lot?

I have never bought on allocation, always local inventory. Its much easier to decide "yes this is worth parting money over" or "eww David, no" when you are able to see it in full sunlight.

 

I personally wouldnt even consider a trim that had the 14" screen, but thats me. I'd go with the SR5.

Id say sport.. better trade in value over sr5.. more desirable...
Now could you get the mods of a sport put on the sr5 for less than the difference? If so I'd say go sr5

 

Base OR MT, only 1000$ more than SR5. I can't recommend different than what I'd chose.

 

Let us know how much Modding you plan to do. If you plan on a fair amount, maybe get the SR5 and use money saved toward Mods.

 

The sport is a better deal/value in my opinion.

You need to ask for a bigger discount. You can probably get the 2WD Sport for the 39k they are asking for the SR5. Dealers in my neck of the woods are giving fairly big discounts, up to 5-7k. For the 43k they are asking for the 2wd sport you can get an OR 4x4.

maybe a stripped-out base model offroad so your statement is not entirely true.
A upgrade offroad is $52k+....
correct me if im wrong, only difference other than visual differences is OR coil-overs vs the sport tuned coil-overs???
I will never use the 4wd, I dont need to consider resale value....
