Well, the dealer that I sourced both the SR5 with the upgrade package along with a TRD sport with the upgrade package, both and white, both paint jobs flawless…

I pulled the trigger on the sport…:curls:

Thanks guys, I’ll get some pictures tomorrow at some point, not much to see. It’s just a talk TRD sport….
Paint flawless, though, sixth time around is a charm…
Even the SR5 had flawless paint.
This thing got built on the sixth according to the allocation report, still didn’t come with the newest larger mudflaps that were seeing…
But did come with darker almost gunmetal Tacoma emblem on the doors, not the black overlay package.
Tomorrow, I’ll install the AAA liners, bedliner, and all weather floor mats, switch back blinkers, get The ceramic window tint back on there, I think that’s it.
I have the lift so need to get that installed.
With all this overwhelming confusion, I thought it was going to come with the 3 auxiliary switches, guess that only comes with the premium package…

    Not so funny story...
Dont think I would have agreed to it, even though a premium package w/ softex, etc, would have been nice if it had the 3 pre-wired aux switches....
I negotiated $4700 off on this premium from a local dealer...
Im not home more than 20 minutes & get a phone-call from team B salesman....
Really want to make you a deal, "today only $5100 off"

There really is no “better” comparing these two only “different”. My work partner has a 3rd Gen. ‘16 Sport & I’m a Second Gen SR-5. His has a manual & mine an auto. Other than changing driving technique we both get to the same places with pretty much the same amount of fuel. I’m not convinced the SR-5 to Sport is an upgrade at all….just different. Enjoy your Truck :hattip:

Now that I’m at the tint shop, what I had on the other truck was CTX series Lumar 25% on the front door windows, going with the same now..
Very soon will be doing front windshield need to decide 35% or 50%…

No. I followed and contributed in your original thread. It was completely warranted.
This one on the other hand...

I don’t think there’s really a reason to make another thread due to this, but for those interested.
I used this product on my other 24 Tacoma to extend the factory door edge guards down the entire length of door.
My new truck didn’t come with door edge guards, and I like the quality of Toyota door guards, but didn’t feel like paying the Toyota money…
It only comes on white, black or clear..
What’s great about this is it’s really low profile just like the factory Toyota stuff, that’s hard to come by.
In my opinion, it just looks cleaner over the bulky stuff that’s readily available.

The Toyota, thin paint, the door is is a hotspot, needs the protection…
If you have to go clear, the backside of the guard has an adhesive strip so inside edge may not be totally clear, that adhesive strip is gray, I don’t think that’s a huge deal though.

like I said, I had it on my other truck and had zero issues with it coming off if installed correctly.

cheap enough if you have to occasionally do a door over, so what…
Pictures may appear that the guards are bulky, but they are not, identical profile to the OEM Toyota guard.
