I've had mine 5 months and have a little over 11,000 miles on it... and I don't consider the amount of driving I do to be excessive.

I figure I'll drive it for 12 years (my daughter will be 16 then) and then either give it to her (depending on what kind of safety equipment is standard by that time) or sell it and get another one.

I do all my own maintenance (oil changes at 3k, other items at 1/2-2/3 recommended intervals). My last car was a Stratus 4-cyl stick that I sold with 170k on the odo. If I keep driving at my current rate I'll pass 300k miles before she gets it... anyone want to take a bet if it makes it? :D

Ok so I went wheeling with a buddy of mine and his bro. My buddy has a 2WD jeep cherokee 4.0 no mods at all, crap ass tires. His bro has a 79 ramcharger 2WD with BFG m/t's. We all went through the soup, climbed a few sandy hills and did some flexing going home through a back trail. So my taco's a little dirty, I see a guy (from mexico chihuahuan license plates) in a blue prerunner, shoot him the peace sign, nothing. Not even a nod. I pass a ford f150 with like a 6in lift and 37's 20in rims, and he oogled at my truck. I pass another ford and the occupants again looked at my truck. That's right Ford bitches, I wheel my shit better than yours, I can take your POS f150 anytime anywhere except the mechanic shop because chances are you're going to be showing up at my work asking for parts that you broke. Push it too hard? Pffft. Not hard enough brotha.

Well that's just my opinion :D

Redlining the RPMs or hitting the governor often is my definition of pushing it too hard.
I'm sure the tacoma can handle daily driving.

If you're just driving.....and you keep it maintained....you should be fine.

But yeah, you CAN abuse your truck. Like...jumping it (when its not built nor prepared for it). Overloading it when hauling or towing. Offroading it and not driving responsibly, etc.
