I think they look fine. I'm also considering swapping out the stock wheels to a 16 inch TRD, the black beadlock style and run them without the trim rings.

Just some 35% tint to match the rears and some 285/70/17 Falkens…
Yeah those are sharp too. They're 7.5 inches wide as well...like mine. The stock wheels on the TRD OffRoad are 7" wide, which really doesn't cut it for a truck marketed as "OffRoad"...

Do matte black not flat black. There is a very slight difference. The matte black will match your wheels much better. Flat black tends to get very chalky looking.

My grill and wheels are matte black

Theoretically both since the weight will be less with less rigid sidewall. Assuming it's the same size of course.

Well, BFG A/T KO2 in the 17" options, 265/70-17, there is a C and E load. The C load is 46 lbs and the E load is 52 lbs. For comparison to 16" options (that only come in E load), a 265/75-16 KO2 weighs around 53lbs, and a 265/70-16 (factory size) is 50lbs.

The factory off-road Wrangler Adventure Kevlar is 265/70-16 and weighs 42lbs, and the factory wheels are around 24 lbs (from what I've read).

There are aftermarket wheels that weigh the same, or even less than the factory wheel. However, it is more important to decrease tire weight than wheel weight because the farther the mass is from the center of rotation the more it increases rotational inertia (it increases exponentially). What all this means is that tire weight has a larger impact on acceleration/gas mileage than the wheel weight, but wheel weight is still important. Rotational mass isn't the only thing that impacts the acceleration/gas mileage though, there is also rolling resistance that increases with wider/stickier tires and that comes into play as well.

In the end typically running any A/T or M/T tire will decrease fuel mileage, but the heavier the tire the worse the effect. If you're looking to have the least amount of impact on gas mileage/acceleration then you need to keep the weight down for sure, and the best way to do that is to run a lighter weight tire, such as the C-load 17" with a lightweight wheel (e.g. http://www.fnwheels.com/new-products/konig-six-shooter/ weighs around 18lbs iirc, but that is from memory and I don't have a source to verify).

Running a C-load tire some say will impact durability because the E-load tire has a stiffer sidewall that supposedly holds up better to rough abuse when rock crawling, and if you are rock crawling often enough to care about that then you probably want the 16" for the larger sidewall that will allow you to air down the tires more because aired down tires increase the contact patch of the tire and ability to grip uneven surfaces like rocks.

I'm sure I missed something, but for 8 in the morning and not having had any coffee yet that's the best you'll get out of me ...

Looks great. wouldn't change a thing. I would NOT put the white letters out. Just my opinion. I'm not into labels and advertising. Reminds me of a 19 80's camaro.

When I get mine ko2's will go on first. Then debadging when I get home

But to each their own, right :)

I don't always like white letter out, e.g. my brother has a black F150 with chrome wheels and I prefer the letters in on that truck just because the chrome is enough to break up the black. I pretty much only like black letters out when the wheels are black, but it's not like one way is really better than the other. Both look good, just sometimes it can be fun to try something different :D

How have the BFG's impacted the ride? My TRDOR sees a lot of highway and a lot of mud on the farm. The stock tires are very nice on the highway, but don't provide much mud traction at all. I'm in need of something better off road that doesn't kill the highway ride. I'm running Mickey Thompson 33's on my Jeep and something like that is out of the question!

They're perfect on the highway. Not too stiff at all and no noise whatsoever. Hence why I always go w the BFGs.

I've been watching these wheels on ebay and wondering about it em myself. I think I'd like to stick with 16" and I saw these and thought they might be the way to go. My plan was to run black wheels for most of the year and use the OEMs for some winter tires.

Would you be willing to do me a huge favor and snap a pic in some better lighting? It's kind of difficult to make these out on my lower quality monitor and with the overcast in the shots. I would be really grateful. I have the same truck and am really struggling with pulling the trigger on these. We have practically the same truck so this is exactly what I need to see!!

I went to Ganley Toyota. Cain wouldn't compete with them. Several times now, I've went to them buying a new Toyota Tacoma and they just don't seem like they want to sell trucks there, to be quite honest. Had one younger salesman with a really snarky attitude, too. That's a total turn off when you're trying to spend $40,000. Annoying to say the least...

Yes I'll definitely do that for ya. The clouds have been killin us lately but I'll get a pic in the sun soon...also make sure you get OEM rims from Toyota. The other ones don't come w lugs, or TRD centers and also they're 8" wide instead of the TRD spec 7.5" wide rims like mine in the pic....

I noticed that there were some clones that were wider and lacked the centercap. Even though they had pics of all 4 wheels in a box with a TRD centercap. Talk about a trap! I'll definitely be cautious.

Thanks for being willing to get some more pics! I was so excited to actually see someone else had the same truck and the same thought process! I'm also a fan of black on white (I'm colorblind so they're the only two colors I can appreciate!) and have been considering derping the grill and badges to add to the effect. I probably wont be blacking out the whole grill. I've seen pics of plastidipped grills that leave the chrome bezel and emblem, and I'm probably going to try that route first.

Yes it's very misleading. I'll definitely post some pics. Oh, and it's funny you mentioned the grille. Like many Taco owners, not a fan of the chrome grilles on the Taco TRD OffRoad models. I just ordered a new grille from Toyota (SR5 grille). It comes pre-painted and it's about $270. I'll sell my old one. Here's a pic of the new grille...
