I got the PUTCO 360's for the 3157 tail light replacement.

I never knew that the stock bulb was white and that the housing created the red brake color. Thought is was the stock bulb that was red as well.

Not knowing that, I bought the PUTCO 360's in RED. Installed they are about just as EQUAL in brightness as the stock lamps.

They do come on quicker though. Still, about the same output as running light, then when the brake is applied, Still same output, but just faster reaction of the light output.

So bearing in mind that the housing is what creates the color, I'm ordering the same bulb from PUTCO in white, this time.

IF the PUTCO red lights were the same brightness as the stock, then the whites should put out more light and react faster to full on.

If they're brighter, I'll post pictures.

This item SUCKS. The stock bulbs are brighter. The LED's are different in color and come on quick, but slightly less bright.

Not worth getting rear ended over.

    Well that sucks.

I have yet to find a premade LED bulb that is bright enough to make an improvement in your taillight's performance. I think one of the only ways to go is by using red/orange LEDs and making custom circuit boards yourself.
