First off hello and thank you for this site of vast knowledge! I have been trolling around here for awhile and have done extensive searching and have found answers to the many questions I had. From that I have put together what I'm going to do with my upcoming project.

I purchased the OME complete Nitro Sport lift kit with the new dakar leafs and that should be here next week. I found a great thread on painting my stock 17" TRD Sport rims black which I'm going to do as well to save some money on this project, plus I kind of like the way the stock sport rims look.

My final question on putting all of this together is with the tire. I want to go with a skinnier taller tire so I can get the slightly better gas mileage and slightly better winter driving out of it. I have been looking at the Cooper ST Maxx 255/75/17. This is where I get confused with the tires, I think that tire will be just fine with the OME lift, but can I put a taller tire in there with minimal or no rubbing? Such as a 255/80 or 255/85? Do I need spacers of any sort with the stock rim?

What I'm looking to do is fill the gap of the lift with a reasonable tire, so my truck doesn't look silly. I live in NH and commute to work so I have to be cognizant of snow and crappy winter travel. The amount of off-roading I realistically do is drive 10 miles of grated logging roads to get to hunting camp. Sometimes I have the occasional pull off spot where I maybe get a mile of access road riding in. Thanks in advance for the help!

I've decided I'm going to scrap that 255 idea and go with General Grabber AT2 in 285/75/16's.

I have been reading through the wheel size sticky and it looks like I should be looking at 16" wheels with 4.5" of backspacing and no offset? This should push it out enough where my rubbing should be minimal to the mudflap and maybe a little on the inside.

    Does that sound correct?
