the radiator I got was a tad bit taller than the one I'm replacing so I needed to take out the rail racks as well and I neglected to take a picture and note exactly how they fit. Can anyone tell me if this is correct or possible post a picture of what the rack rails mounted looks like? I was unable to find a diagram or picture after a cursory search online.

Its been along time since ive replaced one on a first genner, but I would remove them, and hang the radiator from the hooks, then see which way they would need to be mounted to match up.

looks like someone rig them. remove them, there are 2 hooks/tabs on each end that will hook onto the radiator support (this will be the front side when secure with tabs). Radiator is then secure with 4 bolts that come through the front of the grill (grill will need to be remove in order to secure bolts) .

you had the wrong radiator before. those racks are NOT original. like these guys said, the radiator has hooks that rest in holes in the frame while you bolt it in. you might now have the correct radiator as i think there are only 2 different sizes.

also, how can you work with tools, nuts, and bolts when youre working on wood planking?! aren't you worried youll drop something and it will fall between the cracks?

Apparently there are 3 different possibilities and we measured the radiator that was in it before when buying the new one. I recently purchased this truck so this will be the first time i've dealt with replacing a radiator in this truck. I was working on it in the driveway but then began to lose light so I brought everything inside before it got dark and to take the picture there. That most certainly would not be an ideal place to work with small tools and such.

Those look like the drop brackets for a body lifted truck.

It does have a 3" lift. Didn't even think about whether that came into play.
