I have never had a rattle or creak in this truck until this week when I started hearing an occasional creak from the front whilst underway. Thought it might be suspension but when I bounced it, no. Then I pressed the hood down on the driver side and there it was. I have opened the hood and don't see anything rubbing anywhere. I lubed the hinges, no help. I adjusted the rubber stop bumpers both ways, no difference. I have the Redline gas hood lifts so I disconnected that temporarily and it still creaks. Anyone have any ideas? This is driving me crazy.

Good guess, but not it. Headlight is solid in its mount. But I found the problem... it was the pin switch for the remote start. It has a plastic head that rubs on the hood like it has... quietly... for 10 years. Not sure why it makes noise all of a sudden. Just to test it I spritzed it with a little white lithium grease and it was instantly quiet. I found a shiny spot where the paint is worn away where it makes contact with the hood. Maybe the paint was providing a little lubrication before it got worn through? I dunno. I'll spread a little something that is a little thicker and more durable when I get a chance. Or maybe glue on a thin piece of rubber or tyvec.
