Haha yes sir, got nothing to lose but a little time. If you don't like it, just peel it off lol. Probably the quickest and easiest mod you can do

Not sure how I missed this post lol. I didn't do much, just stuck to the easy trails on this one and rode with @Acerwin on the big boy trails. lol. I would have most definitely hit some rocker panels if I did anything else. My sliders should be here in another few weeks so I'll be able to try more.

Super nice truck there!!! You are making me want to go see how much I get for my Pre-Runner and get into a 4x4 off-road :)

How capable was your Pre-Runner? Glad you made the switch?

Thanks man I appreciate it! I have big plans for it with sliders going on this weekend!

I am extremely happy that I made the switch and would do it all over again if I had the chance. My Prerunner was one of the trucks that didn't have the locker but I did take it up to Horsepasture Rd one time and it did good there but there's only a couple steep areas on those trails. Here's the thread that I started for my Prerunner...https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/johns-should-have-bought-the-4x4-build-thread.432612/

It'll show you the most I did with it.

Honestly, the 2nd gens are fetching top dollar right now since they have such negativity towards the 3rd gens. I have been very happy with mine and had no issues yet. Besides, I'm one that doesn't sweat that kinda stuff, it's new, if I breaks...take it to the dealer to be fixed lol.

It definitely cant hurt to go get an appraisal on your truck just to see. Beware though....when I went for my first appraisal the dealer tried to low ball me...they looked at it real quick and handed me a paper with my appraisal of 25k on it....I knew it was a crappy number when I saw a 2015 4cyl base model on the lot for 29,991. They offered me 25k for my SR5 V6. I went back two days later and spoke with another manager, told him I didn't appreciate the low number that was threw At me. He reappraised it and came back at 29,500!

    Good luck with your decision!

I decided to get some quotes and I am so contemplating on this trade! I am just trying to make up my mind. Stay with 2nd or go 3rd gen? I have found some decent 2014, 2015 trucks with low mileage, but for a few grand more I can get a new 2017 SR5 ( I can't afford the TRD off-road).
Since you had a 2nd gen and went to a 3rd gen. What do you like and dislike?

I honestly like them both but I'll have to say that the interior of the 3rd gen is what makes me say I like the 3rd gen better. The 2nd gens are awesome trucks and are proven. Check out @Acerwin and @JimboAnz. They have awesome setups on the 2nd gens. I don't think you'd be going wrong either way, it really comes down to which look you like better and if you're one who likes newer technology. If you go with the 3rd gen add the extended warranty just in case
