I have been a long time reader of TacomaWorld but haven't spent much time posting.

Wanted to finally introduce myself and the truck that this forum has helped me build. Im just going to post a quick intro to the build as it is today and update this post as I document the build out of the camper.

    How it sits today:
    Dec 2019:
    Baja Trip

    Truck:
    2012 DCLB SR5 4x4

    Camper:
    2020 FWC Project M [Removed: ATC Colorado Edition Topper/Tepui Ayer/Tepui 6ft Awening]

    Armor:
Skids: RCI Front/Mid/Trans Aluminum Powder Coated Black
Front Bumper: Pelfreybilt Aluminum via BAMF

    Suspension:
    F: Fox 2.5 Ext Travel (non-res)
F: SPC Forged UCA [Removed: TC UCA]
    R: Fox 2.0 w/ Res
R: OME Dakar HD [Removed: Head Strong AAL]

    Lighting:
Baja Designs Squadron-R Sport Driving Combo
Baja Designs S8 20" Driving Combo
    SwitchPros 9100
    SYLVANIA SilverStar ULTRA

    Wheels/Tires:
    Tire: Falken Wildpeak AT3W 285/75/16 E x 5
    Wheels: SCS Ray10 Jet Black 16x8" x 5
    Notes: Rubber valve stems

    Recovery:
    ARB Single Compressor (under hood)
    Traction Boards
    Recovery Straps

    Performance:
    SS Brake Lines
    K&N Filters

    Cosmetic:
    OEM Color Matched Grille
PlastiDip Emblem and Chrome Rear Bumper (Bumper looks bad now needs replacement...)
    De-Badge

The goal of this build is a home away from home for us and our two mid-sized dogs. We spend most of our summer weekends camping (rafting, fishing, paddle boarding and biking) and longer trips when possible.

We do a lot of wash-boarded out county roads (we live on one and have 3 miles of dirt per day) and camp on many NF and BLM roads, beaches, and remote campsites where 4x4 is necessary. The build is not built for crawling but more for being smooth with additional weight for camping and daily driving.

Being on Tacoma World has made it hard to keep this thing as minimal and functional as possible. One goal of this build is to not "over-build" it.

It is an amazing color and I can't believe they stopped offering it.

What bed rack system is this that fits over a softopper? Thanks in advance for your time. Pyrite Mica rules as far as color! Just my 2 cents! Good Lord what a nice looking rig!

How has your gas mileage changed with the addition of the camper? Any photos of how you have the camper set up?

Gas mileage hasn't changed from what Ive noticed but I ran the topper, tent, awning and camp box full time with the old set up. I think weight wise there was not much of a change and the tent was just as tall. Maybe lost 1mpg but its not something I pay a lot of attention to at this point, I just keep it at 65mph...

Camper is stock at the moment. Use a cooler and dry box for storage and a EcoFlow lithium battery pack for power. Plan to build it out to a "front dinette" floor plan.

We have still been using it as a truck, but just picked up a beater 4runner for lumber/feed store runs so build out will start this winter. For now, we have a EcoFlow Delta lithium battery pack, Dometic fridge, and heated blanket that live in the kitchen box that lives in the back. Keeps it minimal and easy.
