Hey folks, new Tacoma owner here. I've discovered a fact that many of you already know, that the qi pad is worthless. Mine is not warped, but will not charge my iPhone 12. I'm going to just put a plate over the pad to hold my ham radio face plate. I've been searching google like mad on this snowy day, with no luck. My question is, does anyone know of a plug that will plug into the qi power button harness that has more usb charging ports? Thanks for the add to the site!

I don't have an answer, but I'm hopeful someone else does so I'll be watching. That Qi pad is a bummer.

My '21 has 1 or 2 powerful usb ports in the center console, (I think both a usb-a and a usb-c but it's been a while since I've looked), but that might be enough if your '20 has them.

I unplugged my Qi charger from the truck and then repurposed the button to control footwell leds - way more useful feature than a phone heater lol.

I guess I should have added this info, but I run several different electronics while we're bear hunting. GPS, Tablet, radio charger, etc. I just figured as many accessories as companies make for these trucks, someone would make a plug and play replacement. No worries, I may just use the button to power up a relay to run a dual 12v socket under the console.

I had a version of the perm mount one in the old avalon. I loved it except the voltage display is kind of annoying/bright

Is the QI charger generally useless, or is it because your phone doesn’t make contact? I’ve found that the protruding camera of my iPhone 13 won’t allow it to make contact with the charging pad. I have a wireless charger with a raised hump on my desk that works well.

I’m just curious if the QI charger would be useful for a phone with a flat back?

Probably not the best solution, but could be done if you really wanted. If you don't already have a front camera setup, look into the Anytime Backup Camera setup. The switch lighting doesn't match perfect, but it's the simplest way to add a camera.

It charged my small phone, but would only heat my new phone. No issue with it 'charging' just wasn't powerful enough to do anything on a big phone.

    Check build thread!
Can confirm it's generally useless (i have a flat back android phone) and yeah, its just a phone warmer lol.

My phone reports it would take 18 hours to charge from 20% to full on the pad, and I think even that's optimistic.

That 1.3" x 0.88" one will fit where the Qi button goes. I just put one in my truck last night.

The LEDs are bright as shit though. I might pop it back out and desolder them. Could probably tie them into the dimmer wires from an adjacent switch if you modify the board a bit, but I’d rather save the effort and just have them off.

My ABC camera worked fine with stock and the Pioneer, but I rewired it a bit to work differently once upgrading to the Pioneer and I needed more room for different switches on my switch panel.

It's easier with aftermarket, just tie into a switched 12v power source somewhere and plug the camera's Y RCA into whatever spot you want in the back of the headunit. Then when you activate that input it displays. The only downside is (unless something recently changed) there is no support via the Maestro to easily trigger a secondary camera via a steering wheel button so you have to select it manually on the HU interface.

so thats what im looking for is a 12v power source. I never use my QI wireless charger so wanted to tap into that. For my pioneer unit, i can add the display to my homescreen so its anytime

I wish someone would make an upgraded Qi pad, I would buy one for sure. Would be nice to set my phone down and it actually charge.
