iPhone 8plus with an Otterbox. Maybe the case is too thick? Sales guy said "I need a part" WTF is he talking about? Sales guy was Russian so there's that.

Mine works through my life proof case. It has to be facing the right way though, ear peace toward driver side

Did you push the button to turn it on? Try it without the case. It will light up if it working.

Yeah light is on. I will try without the case but that defeats the convenience of the Qi.

It is a troubleshooting step. If it works without the case, you need a different case.

Light on the switch or light on the Qi pad? Light in the pad means it’s working

Rename the thread. Qi works. User error is the problem.

I have been placing the home button to the left, I’ll try to reverse it. Then without case. Thanks.

I need to read the manual again.

Try it without the case, but I never use mine. The charge from the Qi is really slow. I just plug in to charge because it's a lot faster.

I meant that the switch on light was activated not the charging indicator light.

Don't feel bad, I can't seem to get it working right either...Xs Max with an Otterbox. Zero problems with my Anker Qi charger I have at home. :notsure:

I have an Otterbox Defender on my iPhone 8+ and the Qi works with it on. To get it to work, I have to make sure the phone is resting flat and right up next to the front edge of the mat, home button on the left.

For my older phone, Qi did not work through the otter box, however for my newer Google Pixel 3 with thinner case it works. Make sure the light is on at the button and on the pad itself. The light on the pad means it is charging. Do not expect miracles, it is extremely slow charge, kind-of maintains charge for road trip. Overall, I really do not use it often at all, mostly keep my tape measure there. Hope this helps.

We don't know, likely he didn't either.

youre not missing anything. It charges so slow that its almost pointless to use since they are using an old standard to charge. And your phone needs to be almost perfectly centered for it to initiate. Iphones have a poor wireless charge speed anyway compared to android based phones, so theres that

I have a Mophie Qi charger at home and it also requires the phone to be aligned properly. So that's not a Toyota problem.
