nope to all, not on and had nothing sitting on it. It was the heat of Biloxi melting it or something. I don't care enough to get it fixed tbh. Especially since it'll probably just happen again.

Just checked and mines doing it too. I usually have stuff sitting in there so who knows how long it’s been like that. It feels like the rubber is loose all the way around so if it was glued to the plastic all the glue has failed. Maybe from the heat here in Florida. When I have some free time I’m gonna pull it out and see how the rubber is attached and maybe reglue it. I’ll post back with my results.

I took mines in about 1 month ago with 35,800 miles and they replaced it under warranty. The service manager said this was his first time seeing this issue. He also said if I came in 201 miles later it would have been out of warranty and I would be SOL. Now I have another 1year of warranty for the charger.

Corporate denied my case for repair. They say it was caused by an out side heat source

After reading your post, I checked mine. I have the same issue. Bubbled up for no apparent reason. I never use it. I have a mat over it. (I never have the Qi button on)

Had to do my 20k maintenance this morning... told my Service guy about it... said a replacement is on order. Will take a couple of days. Wondering if they'll give me a hard time since I moved the Qi button to make room for my heated seat buttons.

    See my build page!
I just had mine replaced a week or two ago. Covered by my extended warranty...barely. They denied it at first, saying it was a "trim piece". But the dealer pressed...good thing to...its an $800 part.

I had a mat over mine as well. I thought that may have caused the issue. So I threw it out. Now I don't even put anything metal over it because in scared of it happening again.

When I took it to the dealership, they took about 2 hours and the tech told me they had to reset the Qi charger because it was flashing incorrectly. No idea what he meant by that though. I'm still considering about unplugging it and leaving it there

I have the same problem with the rubber distorting on the Qi charging pad, and I have never even used the charging feature. This needs to be reported to your Toyota dealership by everyone!!!!! This will become a recall issue and help us all. For now I am out of warranty and being told nothing but a generic answer because there are no records of a problem. It seems with all the problems here it would be documented??

"Unfortunately, there are no applicable repair programs or warranty coverages that would cover any associated costs for the repairs needed"

Because Toyota's only answer is "we don't know what is causing the problem", I escalated the issue with the Qi Charger pad to the NHTS (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) and filed a complaint.
With the distortion to the rubber Qi pad there is a reason this is happening but Toyota has no answers, I have heard it could be heat which can cause a fire, or an EMF (electromagnetic field) which can cause a health concern. Both are very bad and a serious safety concern.
I can find a lot of people with the same problem but Toyota says they haven't heard of a concern... yet. If everyone files a complaint for this problem it can become a recall and be addressed, and just maybe this problem will be eliminated.

Filing a complaint took just a few minutes.

Mine is in good shape and I’m thinking of selling it. It’s a waste of space to me, I’d rather stick a radio in there and use the switch for some other accessory. How much are used ones on the market?
