My phone gets hot no matter what Qi charger I'm using. One of the drawbacks of the technology.

If I had my way I would replace it with a breakfast taco warmer.

So, I have been using the official OEM wireless fast charger at work for some time and it works great, doesn't heat the phone up much (has a fan built-in) and works relatively fast. However, in the Taco, it heats up too fast. I have not done thorough testing yet, but I believe because the Taco charger does not have a fan, when using the fast charging mode on a Samsung phone it overheats if it believes it is a fast charging model. So, I turned off fast wireless charging in the settings and it appears to not have the flashing lights issue in the Taco. Just a thought. Personally, I like the idea of a wireless charger, but in a truck, it is difficult because bumps and sharp turns could move the phone from the charging position. Good idea, poor execution IMO.

It's fine, it's been heating up my S4 for 2 years without a problem.

Turned off fast charging? Is that a phone setting you are referring to, or a setting in the Tacoma?

I use fast wireless charger on desk, doesn't get hot. Galaxy S8.
In Taco sometimes gets hot especially in hot weather. Also Galaxy S8 has issues with wireless charging, sometimes need to restart the phone and problems are solved.

My Note 8 charges fast and to 100%. It works better then the phone is placed in one direction vs the other, but both work.

The only time the phone has gotten warm/hot was when I had a magnetic phone mounting ring attached to the back.

@CountofQ I apologize for any confusion. It is a setting that can be changed within the software of the Samsung phone. I am not sure if it is only on the newer models, but after using an OEM fast wireless charger, I noticed that I had the option within "Advanced Features" under "Accessories" to turn off "Fast Wireless Charging".

I still need to test more, but like others have said, I have not had an issue with the phone getting hot like it does in the Taco on the OEM wireless charger.

Today my phone was making a strange beeping noise. Noticed the QI pad had two different lights on it, normally just has the one when it's charging. My phone appeared to have a notification but it was gone by the time I looked at it. Phone was really hot... It had only been in the charger 10-12 minutes. Anyone know what was going on?

Yeah, I have had the same problem. I am not quite sure what is happening. My theory is that the phone is getting too hot and the charger is detecting that. I have never had this problem with a Samsung brand wireless charger on my S8+.

Man, all ya'll having problems with your Qi charger. Makes me think I have the only Qi charger that works right. I have an S8 and have charged my phone to 100% multiple times.

when that happens for me, most times I can fix it by turning the Qi charger off and then on again after ensuring my phone is centered and pulled to the front. Some times if it is too hot, that will not work.

I have the same thing happen on longer drives and when it does it my phone seems rather hot. Maybe it’s a safety feature?

My X charges pretty slow with apple leather case. Is there something you do different? I have to put it in the bottom left corner of the Qi pad to get it to charge.

    all tore up already
Note 8 always worked great. Other day heard a crazy sounding chime and figured out it was qi charger flashing. Phone very hot. Qi pad bubbled up in center. Happened 2 more times. Anyone else have issue? Wondering what fix will cost or if I can bootleg something in that spot since warranty out
