My Samsung S7 is sensitive to the placement, and, it must have the case off.

When I picked up the truck, the dealer actually said to me, that my phone was the first one he ever saw actually start to charge when placed on the pad.
I told him about the need to have it out of a case and he said he never heard anything about that until I mentioned it to him.

Also, although it will charge on the pad, it charges faster if I use the micro usb cable plugged into the power outlet the console.

My 2017 trd sport has the charger as well. My Iphone 6s doesnt have wireless charging built in but i bought a mophie case and it works great with the trucks wireless charger. I do long drives and the qi charger is a great option when im streaming blue tooth for 5-6 hours constantly

My 7 and 8 both charged fine on mine. I rarely use it though. Charges faster on the cord for me.

I uhh...peeled the stickers off. Does that count?
I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge with some shitty case on it in my 2018 Sport. I have to place the phone with it pressed against the passenger side wall of the charge pad and pulled against the wall closest to the gear shifter for it to work. Hopefully that helps.

I understand you want it to work, cause after all you did pay for it. In all honesty though the thing charges incredibly slow and is finicky with phone placement. you’re better off going the USB route, which also charges pretty damn slow but marginally faster.

    all tore up already
Mine has started to overheat when leaving my phone on it for long drives(note8). Makes a crazy beep sound unlike any other warning I've heard from the truck. Really confused me the first couple times. Now I realize the rubber cover has expanded and bubbled in the middle. Not sure which is the cause and which is the result. Going to dealer in not too distant future

I bet it's either your case or the placement on the charging pad.

My iPhone 8+ works but charging is VERY slow and it took me a while to get it to work. It will only charge outside of the case (I use a genuine Apple leather case) and it needs to be ALL the way to the right rear of the pad with the home button facing the driver side. If I jam on the brakes or if the phone otherwise moves any little bit out of that right rear corner, charging will stop. At best, with no running apps, I bet maybe 15-20% charge per hour of charge time.

I just use a charging cable anymore. The wireless charging is nothing more than a poorly executed novelty IMO.

Mine works perfectly with an iPhone 8 in a Spigen case. I don't think it's as fast as a cable, but it did charge it up by 10% on a 30 minute drive.

Yes. With mine it has to be situated in a very particular location, front left corner. Anywhere else and it doesn't work. When I do use it my phone gets hot as hell so I actually don't ever use it.

That's lame. I think Toyota requires them to demo some of these basic features.

That's exactly where I have to put mine. Won't work anywhere else.

I had to place my s9+ as far to the left as I could.

I charge my old S4 with an add-on wireless charging receiver. Got pretty hot the other day during an extended drive. Seems pretty easy to get it positioned though. May have more to do with size/placement of the receiver than the charger...

It works on mine with an s9 but is finiky on placement, charges super slow, and the phone gets really hot. Heat is the killer of batteries so I don't plan on using mine. I recommend thinking of the wireless charger as a gimmick and use a cable instead

My wife and I have iPhone X's and she has a case on hers and I don't on mine. Both charge fine. I do find that they do get quite warm when they are charging via this mode though. Not sure that it's that good for it.

So it works well with the mophie case? That’s good to hear, I’m very happy with my 7+, and don’t want to upgrade yet. The battery is getting weaker too. So I can kill 3 birds with one stone! Get better battery life, keep my current phone, and use a feature of my new truck that I thought I wouldn’t use for another couple years.

My iPhone 8 Plus charges fine on it even in its case. You do have to have it in just right spot though...the front left quadrant of the charging area.

If I am the service manager I would tell my team that you are entitled to a resolution just like everyone else. I would check the vehicle in, issue a ticket etc.

If your service manager expects less of his team then go around him/her.
