Qi wireless charging issues

A possible issue is that the Qi charger is off center, at least on my 2018. Found that out when I took apart the console to sound deaden the cab. It's actually off the the right of the space, so if you have a large phone it needs to be snug in the front right corner of the pad. So stupid.

 

Wireless charging is slower than wired charging. Not sure how fast you are going to make the phone lose charging capabilities either, I have never had that issue, on or off road.

I don't have AA so...

 

Ding ding ding we have a winner who would have thought you could make or buy a shorter cord.

 

I have a 2018 trd offroad and a pro max 13 it does not charge on the qi charger with or without a case . I think the camera bump keeps it from laying flat on the charger pad . my 8 plus worked fine with a case .

 

My 8 plus works fine also with an Otterbox Commuter case. Just have to make sure it's centered, but once there it stays that way.

 

Mine was a joke so I gave away the switch and used the spot for my front camera switch and the charger bay to hold my sunglasses.

 

Almost tempted to gut it and try to make my own or try to find a reliable pnp replacement. My S20 works when pushed to the far left of the pad but slides around and disconnects with brake and acceleration. Also it constantly overheats my phone and just needs to be shut off. POS.

 

My wife has an otter box on iPhone 12 Pro (not that big bulky one) and it will change on my QI charger.

 

My charging pad does not work on my Moto G 7 play cause my phone is not QI capable lol. I use my USB cable to charge.

 

Yes I have a 2021 Tacoma and a iPhone 13 pro max along with a 12 pro max both only charge without case. Unlike other vehicle chargers like the 2021 bronco Toyota has cheaped out huge and their wireless charger sucks. I can charge with my case on in other vehicles. Why Toyota why?

 

My 11 pro max worked. 12 pro max doesn’t. A damn shame.

Many people have tried to retrofit it and ran into issues. The iPhone 11 Pro Max charges with a case on. My Samsung Galaxy S10+ charges with a case on. This QI charger is working with technology from 2016. Also, it can't properly vent by nature so all those who have retrofitted (ones that look semi-OEM anyway) haven't found a boost in charge rates at all and still run into heat issues.

 

Real world problems going here.

 

Did you try it in quick charge mode? Hold the Qi button down and the light blinks faster.

 

Is this for reals? Cuz I want to try this, but I'm not home

I have never understood the allure of this wireless charging thing. I mean how fucking hard is it to plug in a charging cable? I store my grungy covid masks there.
